Vegetarian Food Stall at Neighbourhood Food Court @ Kota Damansara, Selangor

At some point in time, I used to visit Kota Damansara almost daily for dinner. There are so many good food outlets here and at any point in time on any day, you would have so many places to choose from . One such favourite places of mine for a good vegetarian lunch would be Neighbourhood Food Court.

The Chinese Vegetarian Stall

Excellent Variety
Neighbourhood Food Court has a lot to offer in terms of variety but this place basically comes to live in the evenings. For lunch, there are just a handful of operators that are open. I specifically like this Vegetarian Stall because of the variety that they have and their prices are very reasonable. This stall is located right at the main entrance as you walk in from the street side and not the car park side. Another good thing about this place is the easy availability of parking. There is a multi storey car park that is attached to this food court and that makes things even more easier.

My Lunch @ RM 6.00
I took a number of items and they had only charged me RM 6.00 for my meal. The food was good and they were fresh. My rating for the food here shall be 8/10.

For a good Chinese Vegetarian lunch in Kota Damansara, I would recommend heading to Neighbourhood Food Court which is located in Sunway Damansara area. Right at the entrance, there is a Chinese Vegetarian stall and the variety that you get is really good. Tasty food and reasonable prices.

KA Vegetarian Restaurant @ Klang, Selangor

We were in Taman Chi Liung, Klang this morning for some work and I had some friends who are vegetarians with me. Right after our discussion, we were looking for some place to have lunch and one of the friends suggested this restaurant which apparently is one of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Klang.

The Restaurant In Taman Chi Liung
Locating this restaurant wasn't difficult and parking is pretty easy around this side of Klang. The restaurant itself was huge and they occupied two shop lots. Very spacious and clean as well.

As you can see from their menu, they have a range of cuisines that they offer and they are all vegetarian. It is more like a Malaysian restaurant and the prices seemed reasonable.

Chinese Tea @ RM 0.80 & Asam Boi @ RM 1.90
The Chinese Tea was good but the Asam Boi was just so so. I am not sure if the Asam itself was not fresh but it just didn't seep well. My rating for the previous shall be 9/10 and the latter 5/10.

KA Special Noodle @RM 7.70

Sweet & Sour Chicken Chop Rice @ RM 6.60
The KA Special Noodles was basically Yee Mee. The portions were good but taste wise, it wasn't the best vegetarian version of this dish that I have tasted. My rating for this shall be 6/10. Similarly, their Sweet & Sour Chicken Chop Rice was just above average only and for this, my rating shall be 5/10.

Based on the dishes that we had tried this afternoon, I wouldn't get too excited about the taste. I am not saying that it wasn't good, it just wasn't great. However, the variety and mix of cuisines that you get here is simply remarkable. Worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for some vegetarian food.

Restoran Puchong Yong Tau Fu @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

This afternoon, we were in the mood for some Yong Tau Fu and when I looked up in the internet for some good recommendations, this Restoran Puchong Yong Tau Fu came up. Since it is not too far from where we were, we decided to drop by for lunch.

The Restaurant in Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan
This restaurant is located along Jalan PSK 2 which is in Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan. And even when you're driving on the main road, you would be able to sight them. The restaurant is huge as they occupy three shop lots and that is a good indicator that their business must be good True enough, when we arrived, the place was almost running at full capacity.

Besides Yong Tau Fu, they have a variety of other dishes that they offer which includes Steamed Fish. The prices are not really cheap and are slightly more than other Yong Tau Fu restaurants. Nevertheless, if it is good, then we surely have no reason to complain. After having gone through their menu, we registered our orders in the Order Chit and passed it over to the lady boss.

Sauces

Herbal Tea
One thing that I like about this restaurant is the space factor. Since they occupy three shop lots, the tables are neatly spaced out and it is not really congested like some restaurants. Moreover, all that you may need in terms of cutlery and sauces are neatly placed on all tables. In a matter of minutes, our drinks were served. I ordered a glass of Iced Herbal Tea and it was good. Not too sweet and pleasant. My rating for this drink shall be 8/10.

Okra Stir Fried With Sambal Belacan

Chee Cheong Fun

Paper Wrapped Chicken
We ordered a small portion of Okra stir fried with Sambal Belacan and we were surprised to see the huge portion being served. I double confirmed with the waiter if that was the small one and they said yes. Certainly looked much bigger than the photograph in the menu. So, if you're going in a very small group, please do take note of this. Taste wise, I would say that it was just okay. There should have been more Sambal Belacan and the lack of it made it taste quite bland. My rating for this dish shall be 6/10. Their Chee Cheong Fun was nice. It came with the sweet sauce and you could add as much chilli that you prefer. This I would give it 7/10. Their Paper Wrapped Chicken was above average. Not to say that it was bad, but my mind is constantly comparing this to the one that we had in Puchong. Huge drumstick but taste wise, it could have been better. My rating for this shall be 7/10.

Steamed Egg

Yong Tau Fu in Soup

Fried Assorted Yong Tau Fu
The Steamed Eggs were very good. The texture was just perfect and it had just the right amount of sauces. 9/10 shall be my rating for this dish. We choose a number of Yong Tu Fu items that we added to the soup and they were all good. I would rate them at 8/10. Their fried items however could have been better. I didn't quite like it as it was soaked in oil. My rating for this shall be 6/10.

We totally enjoyed their Yong Tau Fu which came in clear soup. They were all good and so was their Steamed Eggs. The fried items however could have been better and the same goes for their Paper Wrapped Chicken. In summary, decent food but slightly pricey.

Restoran Good Taste Spicy Soup @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Restaurant Good Taste Spicy Soup is a famous Hakka Restaurant that had commenced business sometime late last year in Sri Kembangan. I just love Hakka food and it has been while since I last had some good Hakka food. When I heard about this restaurant from a friend, I had to make a trip here to satisfy my cravings.

The Restaurant In Pusat Perniagaan Olive Hill

The Restaurant Located On The First Floor
This restaurant is located in Pusat Perniagaan Olive Hill which is close to Taman Bukit Serdang and they are located on the First Floor, right above Proton Edar. Parking is not too difficult here in the evenings but I am not too sure how it is during the day. We were at the restaurant at around 8 pm and they were running full house. The restaurant itself is not too large, perhaps with approximately 15 tables and we had to wait for 15 minutes before being allocated a table. I do see a lot of customers that make prior reservations and I believe that that is the best practice for this restaurant. They seem to be very popular and I was told that it is the same during lunch hours.

Their menu is quite straightforward and it is good that they have photographs of the dishes as well. Being specialty Hakka dishes, the variety isn't as great as a day to day Chinese restaurant. Nevertheless, this is what we are here for right. Prices seemed reasonable to me as well but again, I would have to reaffirm this once I see the actual portions. A good thing about this place is the cleanliness and the speed at which the staffs attend to you. Both were really good.

Chrysanthemum Tea @ RM 7.90

Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs @ RM 25.00
I loved the lovely looking pot that was used to serve the tea and it was served with class. The tea was good, high grade and had some very lovely flavours. My rating for this shall be 9/10. Their Sweet & Sour Pork is a top seller here and yes, they use Pork Ribs instead of the usual fatty meat. The base sauce was so good and they were generous with the add on's. Even the meat was so tender. 10/10 would be my rating for this dish.

Claypot Pork Belly with Salt Fish @ RM 18.00

Ladies Finger with Pickled Vegetables @ RM 12.00
The next dish that we tried would be their Claypot Pork Belly with Salt Fish. Again, this was another excellent preparation that won our hearts. The Pork Belly had been very thinly sliced and the mix of meat and fat was just perfect. The amount of Salt Fish used was just right as well. 9/10 would be my rating for this dish. The next one that we tried was something very unique. Steamed Ladies Finger are topped with some pickled vegetables and you're supposed to stir the whole preparation to give it a bundled taste. And yes, it was good. My rating for this too shall be 9/10.

Hakka Spicy Soup @ RM 16.00

Hakka Tau Fu Pok @ RM 13.00
Their Hakka Spicy Soup was another excellent one and perhaps that best that I have tasted till date at a restaurant. The mix of ingredients were fantastic and if you do not consume any specific part, please do let them know before hand. The spiciness was quite potent and the overall flavours were excellent. 10/10 would be my rating for this. Their Hakka Tau Fu Pok was good but I have tasted better ones. This, I would give it a 7/10.

Generally, we were very happy with the food and the prices were truly worth it. This is definitely one good place to visit if you're looking for good Hakka Food. Highly recommended and their Hakka Hot Soup is a must try.
