Heng Huat Fried Kway Tiao @ Pasir Panjang, Singapore

This afternoon, I decided to venture out to another stall which comes under the Singapore's Best Food category and these guys are famous for their Char Kuey Teow. This stall is located inside the Pasir Panjang Food Court and they are open on Mondays to Saturdays, from 12 noon till 10 pm.

It is not difficult to locate this stall. Once you arrive at the Pasir Panjang Food Court, head over to the right side and walk in. Right in the middle of the food court, you would notice this stall. There was a long queue of orders when I arrived and I had to wait close to 20 minutes before my order was served. The concept here is that you would have to place your orders and pay for them. Once it is ready, it would be sent over to your table. 

Basic Char Kuey Teow @ SGD 3.00

This is their basic plate of Char Kuey Teow. As you can see, it comes with lots of veggies and you could add more eggs, veggies, cockles and even opt for the oyster version. The portion was decent and taste wise, it was nice and very different to the Malaysian version. Being one of the best Char Kuey Teow in Singapore, it is worth giving this a try.

Prawn Noodle at San Jiang Eating House @ Geylang, Singapore

Singapore has a rating system whereby they go all out and rate eateries based on customer voting and feedback and the next few days, I was planning on visiting some of the best eateries that Singapore has got to offer. This morning, I visited one of the restaurants that was located close to my hotel. This restaurant is famous for their Prawn Mee and apparently it is one of the best ones that you would get in Singapore.

The Prawn Noodle Stall

Those stalls and restaurants that are rated as the best, would have a logo pasted on their stall. Since this one is just one of the best, hence you won't find the logo here. The stall itself was quite basic and there were a handful of customers at the restaurant when I arrived. And without a doubt, all of them were having this Prawn Mee. He also sells some other noodles as well but their Prawn Mee seemed to be the top seller.

Comes With Red Chilli's

The Iced Coffee was priced at SGD 1.50 and it was good. Not too sweet and the blend was perfect. 9/10 shall be my rating for that. The Prawn Noodle was priced at SGD 4.00 per bowl and interestingly, it was served by red chilli's instead of the usual Shrimp Paste. 

Clear Broth

Comes With Shrimps, Sliced Pork and Fish Cake

The broth itself was clear in colour unlike the reddish broth that you get in Malaysia. There were sliced shrimps, pork slices, fish cake and some kangkung as well. It actually tasted much milder than the version that you get in Malaysia. I did check around with some friends in Singapore and apparently this is how the Prawn Noodles is served in Singapore unlike the one that you get over here. I would say that it was still good though being different. 

The Prawn Noodles from San Jiang Eating House in Geylang is apparently one of the best Prawn Noodles that you get in Singapore. It's quite different to the Malaysian version and the broth is clear in colour. However, the flavours are nice despite being much milder. Worth trying when you're in Singapore.

Beanstro @ Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Beanstro is a premium brand which is owned by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Singapore. I am not sure how many such outlets that they have in Singapore but this is from the outlet that I frequent every time I visit Singapore and this is located inside Marina Bay Sands. 

One of the beauty that this cafe offers is the wonderful sight, right beside soothing waters and it is such a sight. All you need is just a cup of coffee to sit back and unwind from the hectic day. That being said, there is a limited number of seats that is available on this side of the cafe. The rest are inside the cafe and it pretty much is just like any other Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlet. Due to this limitation, most people tend to reserve their seats but luckily this afternoon, there was one available seat and I managed to get that. 

The above are just a few pages from their extensive menu. Besides the usual light food, they also have heavy meals that even go to the extent of grilled meat. Unlike the other standard Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlets, Beanstro does have an extensive menu to choose from.

Original Ice Blend Mocha @ SGD 7.60

This drink is one of my favourites here and each visit, I have got to order this. This time around too, the drink was perfectly fixed and served freezing cold. Something that you have got to try here and my rating for this shall be 9/10. 

Beanstro's Breakfast Platter @ SGD 18.50

This is the main reason I come to Beanstro. Their Breakfast Platter, though priced on the high side, is one that would give a kick start to your day. This is available all day long and it comes with Toasted Country Bread, 2 Eggs, Grilled Chipolata Sausage, Mushroom Ragout, Turkey Bacon and Marinated Tomato. Each one is perfect done and is a true delight. Though the portions have shrunk over the years, I still feel that it is worth it, and with that kind of view, it's a great way to start your day. My rating for this platter is 8/10. 

Beanstro is a premium brand in Singapore which is owned by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf franchise. Each time I visit Marina Bay Sands, especially when I am there in the mornings, this would be my favourite cafe and it's mainly for their Breakfast Platter. A lovely spread that is so satisfying with wonderful views.

Chutney Mary Indian Fast Food @ Changi, Singapore

As usual, it was another early flight in to Singapore and in order to avoid getting stuck in the traffic jam in the city, I decided to have my breakfast at the airport itself. Usually, I would avoid doing this since I would prefer to explore the local food, nevertheless, going into the city at this hour looking for food would be a waste of time since it would be jammed almost everywhere. 

Chutney Mary in Terminal 2, Changi

I have visited Chutney Mary many times and I believe that they were all for dinner and I have never been too happy with the food served then. Since I have not tried their breakfast spread, I decided to give it a try this morning. They had a good spread of South Indian dishes which seemed okay to me.

Coffee @ SGD 2.00

Idli Vada Set @ SGD 6.00

Their Coffee was good and it was served hot. Balanced amount of sugar was used and I really enjoyed it. My rating for their coffee shall be 8/10. I had also ordered their Idli Vada set which came with two Idli's, one Ulunthu Vadai, some Sambar, Tomato Chutney and Pudina Chutney. 

Unlike what I get for dinner here, this was really good and most importantly, the Idli and Vada were fresh. The Idli was reasonably soft and so was the Vadai. Their Chutneys were good too and I totally loved the Sambar. A lovely breakfast it was and I would rate this at 8/10. 

Unlike what I used to get for dinner at this very same outlet, the breakfast options were surprisingly good. The Idli's and Vadai was fresh and reasonably soft. Their Chutneys were good and so was the Sambar. Worth visiting them if you're looking for a reasonably good South Indian breakfast in Changi Airport.
