Krishna Curry House @ Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Krishna Curry House is one of those South Indian Restaurants in Petaling Jaya that needs no introduction. For many years, they were located along Jalan 222 and a few years back, they had moved to this present restaurant that is located along Jalan SS9A/19, Seri Setia. After a long sabbatical, I am back here for lunch this afternoon.

The Restaurant in Seri Setia

Banana Leaf Rice Meal
As usual, it has always got to be Banana Leaf Rice when we are here. At some point it time, the quality declined and that was the reason why we stopped coming. Recently I heard from a friend that they are back to what they were and that's how we ended up here this afternoon. Parking is relatively easy and another thing that I like here is the speedy service.

Good Spread Of Vegetables

Chicken Curry

Sambar
The basic Banana Leaf Rice Meal comes with three vegetables, Pudina Chutney, Mango Pickles, Pickled Chilli and free flow of curries. I would say that the spread was good and the veggies were fresh and tasty. My rating for their veggies shall be 8/10. Both their Sambar and Chicken Curry were excellent. Rich in flavours and very generous with the spices. These definitely deserve a rating of 9/10.

Claypot Mutton

Claypot Chicken
Their Claypot Chicken and Claypot Mutton are top sellers here and their Claypot Mutton specifically has been my all time favourite. In fact, I do come back each time specifically for this preparation. Both are so good and they come in some really thick curry. Pricey but it's totally worth it. My rating for both shall be 10/10.

Crabs

Nandu Rasam (Crab Rasam)

Bru Coffee
We were really in the mood for a feast and I was so glad that the food quality was back to what it used to be. We then added two crabs and that too was fantastic. It was served in some gravy and we totally loved it. My rating for their Crab Curry shall be 9/10. We also had some Nandu Rasam and finally wrapped up the meal with some Bru Coffee. Their Nandu Rasam deserves a rating of 9/10 and the same goes to their Bru Coffee. In total, two Banana Leaf Rice Meals plus the rest cost us just under RM 100.00 which I felt to be a pretty good deal.

Everything that we tried this afternoon, the Banana Leaf Rice Meal, Claypot Mutton, Claypot Chicken, Crabs and Nandu Rasam, each were excellent in their own way. Even the basic curries were superb and their prices are totally worth it, not that I would say that they are expensive. This is surely an excellent place to visit for a hearty Banana Leaf Rice Meal.
