Pizza Hut @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

Well, most of us are quite familiar with Pizza Hut but the reason that I am blogging about this is predominantly to write about my experience in this particular outlet which is located in Tanjung Malim, Perak. Most of the time, we would go for other restaurants but today, we were in the food for some change and decided to head to Pizza Hut for lunch.

We arrived at this restaurant at around 1.00 pm. As this restaurant has limited seating space on the Ground Floor, we went up to the First Floor. The place was packed and most tables seemed to be waiting for their meal. In about 15 minutes, after numerous attempts of trying to attract the attention of the waiters, a waitress approached our table to take the orders. We then placed the orders which she wrote on a notebook and then disappeared.

After another twenty minutes which was 1.35 pm, a pitcher of Pepsi was sent to our table and this was part of the package which we selected. We understood that they were busy and therefore did not make much noise even when the drinks arrived fairly late. The best part was that the Pepsi had been diluted and had lost it's taste. You can clearly see that from the colour of the Pepsi even when it was in the jug. Okay fine, we assumed that it was the useless quality control which was deployed by KFC Holdings which is the parent company and we just kept quiet.

At 1.50 pm, the Mushroom Soup arrived. These were also part of the selected package. The Mushroom Soup was awful. It tasted very bland. The reason being that they were not properly prepared and there was lots of thick lumps of flour which were not properly mixed to give it the desired taste. Okay fine, I understand that you are busy. We shall tolerate this. Then we waited and waited and the rest of the items did not arrive. Finally at 2.30 pm, the waitress comes back to our table and mentions that she had lost the chit which she used to record our orders and had forgotten to key in into the system and asked us to reorder again. That was when I lost my temper. I have been waiting here for one hour and thirty minutes and finally you have the guts to come and ask me to repeat my order. Then how did you send the earlier dishes which we had ordered. She could not answer and then called the Manager. The Manager apologised  and said that she would try to expedite our orders. At this moment, there were more tables that were already pissed off with the waiting and had walked out of the restaurant. Finally, after giving them a piece of my mind, I repeated the orders again and then both of them walked away.

Within five minutes of the incident, another pitcher of Pepsi and two Mushroom Soups were sent over to the table. Well I have my parents who are aged and need to take their medication on time and now it is way past the rightful time for their medications. Should anything happen, would Pizza Hut be responsible? This time, the Pepsi was not diluted and it tasted good. So, why was it diluted earlier? Are the staffs here trying to make some money on the side by diluting the drinks? Perhaps Pizza Hut should investigate this.  If you look at the Mushroom Soup too, this set was much better prepared and they were thick and creamy. What happened earlier? Why was it diluted?

At 2.50 pm, the above Garlic Bread was served. The Garlic Bread was nice. Absolutely no complaints with this.

The Garlic Bread was served along with these Chicken Drummets. These Drummets too came with a good coating of crunchy goodness and they were delicious.

Dip Sauce

Within minutes from the earlier dish, the Criss Cut Fries were served. We all loved the Fries. The Dip Sauce however was mediocre.

At 3.10 pm, the first Pizza arrives. This is the Double Cheese Pizza. The Pizza was quite good and this is the first time that I am tasting this flavour. Pretty good.

The Chicken Supreme Pizza was served at 3.20 pm. This was good too but the earlier one was much better. 

Having Our Meal With Unhappy Faces

Well, what can I say, we came at 1.00 pm and finally left the restaurant at 4.00 pm . What was supposed to be a happy weekly lunch became a disaster. I would seriously hope that the Pizza Hut management does investigate as to why the earlier items sent were sub standard and how a staff can end up loosing orders. That is something that it not acceptable. This would most likely be my last time heading here. Another point that I would like to raise is that the clock on the first floor runs slow by 20 minutes and when you do take aways on the ground floor, the cash register runs faster by 15 minutes thus covering their butt for any possible customer confrontation. If one does not trust me, please go and check for yourself. Just observe the crowd there, they are all disgruntled.
