Restoran Fatty BBS is one of those places that is very famous for their Prawn Mee and Chicken Rice. Not many KL'ites know about this place except the locals living around Selayang and Batu Caves areas. A friend of mine informed me about this place and since I was in the vicinity early for an appointment this morning, I made it a point to check the place out for breakfast.

They start their business at 8.30 am and this goes on till 8.30 pm daily. In fact, I was on the dot when they were just opening the restaurant this morning. I checked with one of the staffs if they had prepared the food and he said yes. The place was just a simple set up. The main dining hall was an air-conditioned space and they had a small outdoor seating area mainly catering for smokers.

That's their entire menu end to end. As mentioned earlier, the main specialty dishes here are their Chicken Rice and roasted meats along with their Prawn Mee. Once again, this comes in a number of combinations. At that time, the roasted meats were not quite ready and the only thing available was their Prawn Mee. Well, I mainly came for that and so it was very much fine with me. I then went for their famous Large Prawns Har Mee which was priced at RM 13.00 and their local coffee which was priced at RM 1.70 . Initially, I was contemplating if I should go for the one with Pai Kuat too, but later decided not to. Let me taste this first and if it's good, then I'll perhaps come again another day.

The service here was very efficient and it took them less than 3 minutes to send my drink over. The coffee was nice and bold bodied. Very good for hardcore coffee drinkers but would definitely not suit those who prefer milder ones. Being a coffee lover myself, I enjoyed it. Very mildly sweet and bitter and bold it was. I would rate this at 9/10 . A good one to try especially for hardcore coffee lovers!

Although the prices here may seem to be a little on the high side, I personally felt that it was very much worth it. The Har Mee came in a large bowl, with three large Prawns, some dried shrimps, a whole egg sliced into two halves, some fish paste, spinach and this lavish ingredients were served in a very thick broth. I must say that it was a very good preparation and the broth itself was so concentrated and tasty. This is not the best that I have tried but is definitely one of the good ones in the Klang Valley. For this dish, I would rate it at 9.6/10 . Highly recommended!

The Chili Paste itself tasted so good on it's own. And above all, they were not stingy with the portions. Ask for more and they would just get it for you. I would rate this Chili Paste at 9.5/10 . Loved it and it complimented the dish excellently!

On the whole, I was very satisfied with the Prawn Mee here. I would definitely be making another trip to try their Roasted Meats as that too looked very good from the photographs in the menu. This is surely a place that I would highly recommend!
