The Biryani Pot @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

The Biryani Pot was previously an Indian Muslim restaurant that had been selling Rojak and Cendol. Just last week, they had done a re-branding exercise  and started calling themselves The Biryani Pot.

The Restaurant Along Jalan GC1

Simple Decoration

A Few Doors Away From 7 Eleven
This restaurant is located along Jalan GC1 in the Glomac Cyberjaya area. As you can see, they are just a few doors away from 7 Eleven. They start at 8.00 am and business goes on till 10.00 pm daily. The interior was simple looking but it slacked in design so much so there are too many lights and too few fans thus creating an extremely warm dining space. I would definitely recommend sitting outside, even in the afternoons as the ventilation is way better.

Iced Tea
I ordered a glass of Iced Tea and was surprised by the quality. Seriously, it wasn't like one that was fixed in an Indian Muslim restaurant. Too little tea dust used and too much milk and the overall concoction was quite disappointing. My rating for this shall be 6/10.

Variety Of Dishes Available
They have introduced these new dishes to their menu. They definitely look interesting and reasonably priced but I shall wait for my Briyani to arrive to judge on the taste.

Chicken Briyani @ RM 9.00

Comes With An Egg
Honestly, the Briyani was quite disappointing. I found the rice to be too soggy with moisture and a little overcooked. The spices lacked as well and there was too much reliance on the sides to add taste to this dish. The Chicken was also quite pathetic taste wise. Even the egg was not cooked with the rice and it was subsequently added on prior to serving. My rating for this shall be 5/10.

Gravy

Raita

Sweet Acar
The accompanying gravy was good on it's own but not sufficiently good to lift the taste of the Briyani. My rating for this shall be 7/10. The Cucumber Raita was definitely old stuff and it did taste stale. 4/10 for their Raita. The Mixed Fruit Acar was also disappointing. Again, it wasn't fresh and taste wise, it wasn't up to my expectations. I would only give this 4/10.

Previously, this restaurant used to only sell Rojak and Cendol and I understand that business had not been so great for them, thus this re-branding exercise. They now call themselves The Biryani Pot and honestly, their Briyani was really not there yet. I do feel sorry for them as the boss was trying his best to convince me that this Briyani was something good but sadly, it has lots of room for improvement.
