Auntie Lora Penang Prawn Mee @ Subang Jaya, Selangor

I was informed by a friend that a very good Prawn Mee place had recently opened up in Main Place, Subang Jaya and being a fan of that dish, I could not resist visiting them. Apparently, this restaurant is quite famous in Bukit Mertajam and it was just in recent months that they had opened their first outlet in the Klang Valley which is in Cheras and now, this one in Subang Jaya.

Brief History On The Walls

This restaurant is located on the Lower Ground Floor in Main Place, Subang Jaya. So, if you're coming from the car park, you can't miss them. The set up was simple and nice. Staffs seemed a little new and that's probably because this is a new outlet but they were trying their best.

They had a pretty extensive menu covering some of the main dishes from Penang. From what I could see, their highlights were Prawn Mee, Lam Mee, Kuey Teow Soup and Asam Laksa. Of course, there were so many more to choose from. As for the Prawn Mee, you have so many add on's to choose and that's really good because it gives their customers the flexibility to have it the way they prefer.  

White Coffee @ RM 4.50

Chili & Shrimp Paste

I really enjoyed their White Coffee. The blend was smooth and balanced. Not too sweet as well. My rating for this shall be 9/10. Similarly, the Chili & Shrimp Paste that accompanies the Prawn Mee was very nicely done. It was mild, no one ingredient overpowered the total mix and it was just perfect for the noodles. Again, this is another one that I would give 9/10. 

Prawn Noodle with Pork Ribs @ RM 16.90

Prawn Noodle with Large Prawns @ RM 18.00

We ordered two variations to this Prawn Mee, one that comes with Pai Kuat and that was priced at RM 16.90 and the other one that comes with large Prawns and this was priced at RM 18.00 . Overall, the portions were huge and they were generous with the ingredients. The broth was again perfect and I feel that this can be a strong contender to the famous Prawn Mee outlet in Taman Kok Lian, Ipoh Road. My rating for this dish shall be 9/10. If you're looking for a good Prawn Mee on this side of the Klang Valley, I would definitely recommend Auntie Lora Penang Prawn Mee.
