Chatter Box is an award winning restaurant that is located on the 5th Floor of Mandarin Hotel, Orchard Road, Singapore. Usually, I would prefer going for street food but I had been repeatedly convinced by a friend that this place serves one of the best Chicken Rice in Singapore. Having heard that, I had to check the place out.

Being a posh hotel, the entire set up was classy. In order to reach this restaurant, you would have to go towards the end and take the lift up. The place tends to be crowded during peak hours and it is best to make a reservation before heading there.
Their menu offers a range of dishes and the prices seem reasonable for the kind of set up. As you can see, their signature dish is the Chicken Rice and true enough, most of their customers were going for this. It felt like I was in Chicken Rice land.

The set is priced at SGD 27.00 and it comprises of rice, Steamed Chicken, Chili Paste, Ginger Paste, some Soy Sauce and a bowl of clear soup. Quite generous with the portions and it's surely good enough to feed a big eater.

The Butter Rice was decent. The flavours were good and I liked the mild flavours. Similarly, the Chili Paste as well as Ginger Paste were rather mild as well. I may have preferred something more spicy but I guess this is localised to suit the local taste buds.

The Clear Soup was nice and it was good to see that they had added a Tofu in it. The Steamed Chicken was decent as well. It was somewhat different to the preparation that you get here in Malaysia but I guess, this is how Singaporeans like their Chicken Rice.
If you're down in Singapore, you should give Chatter Box Restaurant a try. They are on the 5th Floor of Mandarin Hotel that's located along Orchard Road and the signature dish here is their Chicken Rice. In fact, it wouldn't be wrong to say that almost everyone that comes here orders this dish. Surely one of the best Chicken Rice is Singapore.
