Ah Keong Yau Tau Foo & Chee Cheong Fan @ Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is something that is very unique and I was under the impression that it is only found there until recently, I was informed that this is available at the Damansara Uptown Hawker Centre. Being a fan of this Chee Cheong Fun, I decided to check this place out.

This stall is located almost at the far right end of this hawker centre. Do note that all stalls here have the Halal status and as such, you would see many of his customers being Muslims who get an opportunity to try this Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun. Besides this, he also sells the normal Chee Cheong Fun and his own Yong Tau Fu which comes with his special hot sauce.

There is always a very long queue at this stall and sometimes it can take up to 30 minutes before reaching your turn. There has been a lot of mention on how friendly this gentleman is and yes, he was very friendly and smiling all the time to the customers. But that gesture ended only with him. His wife and daughter hardly smile or even speak to any customers as they prepare the food. I am not sure if he makes all the Yong Tau Fu items himself as most of them, seem like the ones that you buy in the local supermarkets. Today, it took me around 15 minutes for my turn. Once you reach the tray, just pick the items and place them on a plate and then he would prepare them according to your orders.

I took two pieces of the Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun and it was priced at RM 1.00 per piece which is very reasonable. It came with his own sweet and hot sauce. The sweet sauce was just okay but the hot sauce was awesome. The Chee Cheong Fun's too had a lavish filling  and as a dish, it was just fantastic. I would rate this at 9/10 .

Besides the earlier Chee Cheong Fun, I also took another plate of assorted Yong Tau Fu which once again was served with the same sauces. Having fallen in love with his hot sauce, I asked for more hot sauce and they obliged happily. The Yong Tau Fu however was just okay, in fact I have tasted much better ones. This to me was just above average but luckily, the hot sauce was the one that filled the gap. I would rate his Yong Tau Fu at only 6/10 . It was nothing great to fancy about unlike the Chee Cheong Fun. 

I would definitely return for him Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun but not for the Yong Tau Fu. Do note that he has unscheduled off days and sometimes, you may be unlucky to find that the stall is closed for the day.
