Jalan Loke Yew Char Kuey Teow @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

I was looking for some Char Kuey Teow this afternoon and that is when my brother informed me of a place that he had tried recently in town which was good. I am always open with trying new food and places and therefore agreed to tag along.

The Stall Along Jalan Loke Yew

The Stall Along Jalan Loke Yew
It is quite easy to locate this stall. This is located along Jalan Loke Yew in town. If you are familiar with Bond Mega Pharmacy which is at the corner of the first row of shops as you enter Jalan Loke Yew via Jalan Besar, go straight down along that road and the very first stall at the end of the row of shops is this stall. Very simple to locate.

The Stall

Us At The Stall

Simple Yet Practical
In the mornings, this stall is operated by another vendor which is my good friends' parents. This Uncle starts his business  at 1 pm and goes on till 6 pm . In the mornings, they sell different food items altogether and in the afternoon, this Uncle sells Fried stuffs and Chee Cheong Fun. I asked him what the name of the shop was and he gave me a huge grin and shortly mentioned that he has not thought of a name yet and perhaps when he has decided on one, will let me know. Do note that this stall is closed on every Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Herbal Tea @ RM 1.30
Everyone in the stall were very friendly to us and it felt really nice and appreciated. As for the drinks, we ordered Herbal Tea and it was priced at RM 1.30 per glass. The Herbal Tea was just okay, not concentrated which was not to my liking. I would have preferred it to be more concentrated. I would rate this drink at 7/10 .

Ingredients At The Stall

Busy Frying
We then ordered two plates of Char Kuey Teow and we asked for it to be extra spicy with an added egg each. This Uncle prepares it the original way whereby he only fries one plate at time regardless of the number of plates ordered. This ensures that the ingredients are perfect with each dish. It was not a long wait and he was pretty fast in serving both plates of Char Kuey Teow to our table.

Char Kuey Teow @ RM 5.00 per plate

Char Kuey Teow @ RM 5.00 per plate
The plate of Char Kuey Teow was priced at RM 5.00 each but that was with the extra egg. A basic plate would have been much cheaper. The Char Kuey Teow was served with a sheet of cut Banana Leaf at the base.  Taste wise, it was fantastic and definitely the best that I have tried in Tanjung Malim. Previously, I had blogged about a place called Restaurant Ho Yee Kee which was then the best Char Kuey Teow that I discovered in Tanjung Malim and this was much better than that. Absolutely fantastic stuff! For all Char Kuey Teow fans out there, don't miss out trying this place. You'd surely love it! I would rate this Char Kuey Teow at 9.4/10 . Highly recommended!
