TeeKaapi Indian Cuisine @ Batu Caves, Selangor

TeeKaapi Indian Cuisine is a restaurant that is located in Eco Sky which is just beside Taman Wahyu, Batu Caves. What attracted me here is the fact that they serve Indian Style Shell Out and that too on Banana Leaf, the South Indian way. Having heard that such a thing is available here, we made it a point to drop by this evening.

The Restaurant in Eco Sky
Since this building is relatively new, parking is easily available as the commercial area is not fully taken up. Their set up is quite posh and the tables are nicely spaced out and that enables you to have conversations without being worried about being noisy. Besides that, private room is available too for private functions.

Their menu has a mix of North and South Indian dishes and some fusion dishes. Vegetarian options are there but they are relatively limited. Prices seem reasonable for the concept. Since we had made our mind to go for the Shell Out, we did not take much time at looking at the other available options.

Orange Cordial

White Rice
This shell out set is for four pax and therefore, it comes with four portions of white rice and four glasses of orange cordial.

Indian Shell Out @ RM 100.00
This Indian Shell Out is available only on weekends and it priced at RM 100.00 per set. It comes with some fish, crabs, squid, shrimps, veggies, corn, chicken, mussels and clams. Please do prepared to wait as this preparation is made from scratch and would take some time. For me, that is good since everything would be fresh.

It is really rare to see this kind of Indian Shell Out and that too one that is being served on Banana Leaves. For me, it was a wonderful meal. The mix of fish, clams, mussels, shrimps, squid, crabs, chicken, veggies and corn that came in a mildly spicy sambal like preparation was just heavenly. It was so good and I wouldn't mind returning again for another round of excellent food. Do note that this is only available during the weekends and a set for four pax is priced at RM 100.00 . Excellent food and lovely ambiance.

Simple Box @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

Simple Box is not a new restaurant in Cyberjaya. They were previously located in Glomac Cyberjaya and then, they were known by the name Simple Box Food and were very famous for their delicious Briyani's. I got to know that they have relocated to Tamarind Square, a very new building in Cyberjaya and have done a tremendous makeover to their restaurant. Having been previously impressed with their food, we decided to drop by this evening.

Beautiful Concepts

Table For Two
Relocating to Tamarind Square has given them a tremendous advantage. Parking is easy and now you could park near the lift that takes you straight to their restaurant. They have the usual indoor and outdoor seating area but their highlight here is the rooftop open air seating area which is simply fabulous. Even if you're a couple or a group of friends looking for a somewhat private area, this is just the ideal place for that. The lighting is minimal and that gives you the perfect setting for romantic dinners.

The menu that they offer is simply great and it has a number of fusion dishes that are not to be found elsewhere. Prices are  very reasonable as well. Whether you;re coming for a delicious meal or some light snacks, they have it all.

Complimentary Iced Water

Cutlery
I was quite impressed with the overall set up. Even the cutlery that they provided were of a good quality. Each table is provided a bottle of drinking water as well and that comes on the house.

Complimentary Appalam

Teh Tarik @ RM 3.00
Indian dishes do take a while to prepare and having realised that, they serve us a platter of Appalam's which comes complimentary while the dishes are being prepared. Their Teh Tarik was great as well and I would rate it at 8/10.

Onion Pakora @ RM 7.00

Grilled Pepper & Garlic Prawns
Onion Pakkora has always been one of their top sellers and I am so glad that they quality is still up to the mark. Crispy, addictive and so tasty. 9/10 shall be my rating for this. Definitely one of the better ones out there. Their Grilled Pepper & Garlic Prawns were just awesome. It's slightly on the spicy side but I am very sure that all of you would love it as much as we did. My rating for this shall be 10/10.

Grilled Original Chicken

Spinach & French Cottage Cheese Tortilla Pizza
Grilled Chicken was very good as well. I loved the marination and the meat was juicy and tender. 8/10 shall be my rating for this. We also tried their fusion dish which is the Spinach and French Cottage Cheese Tortilla Pizza. Something very unique that you may not find elsewhere. The crust is light and topping was delicious. 8/10 shall be my rating for this as well.

Be it Briyani's, Indian style grilled items or even fusion food, Simple Box Restaurant would be my choice of restaurant in Cyberjaya. Excellent food at reasonable prices and their roof top dining space is truly an awesome experience.

Indian Wok Restaurant @ East Coast Road, Singapore

Indian Wok Restaurant is one of those Indian restaurants that specialises in Indian Chinese cuisine and is very famous in Singapore. Located in East Coast Road, this restaurant draws customers from all over Singapore. The place is so famous so much so, it is almost impossible to get a table without advance booking.

The Restaurant Located Along East Coast Road

Very Post Set Up
We had to make a reservation a day earlier although the expected time of arrival was way earlier than their peak hours. Even when we arrived, all the tables were marked as reserved and many customers who walked in had to be turned down due to non availability of tables. The restaurant has a very posh set up and a lovely ambiance. Being a place of class, the service levels were as expected and they were very efficient in managing the crowd.

Free Chili Paste, Sliced Pickled Potatoes & Bird Eye Chili in Vinegar

White Rice @ SGD 5.00
Since it was only the both of us, we had ordered some rice and two dishes and they were delivered quite fast. As far as their menu is concerned, they do have a great spread of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes to choose from. We were not too hungry as well since we had a pretty heavy lunch.Their prices are surely premium but that commensurates with the taste, service levels and overall ambiance.

Mushroom Beancurd @ SGD 14.00

Sweet & Sour Vegetable @ SGD 14.00
The first dish that we had ordered is their Mushroom Beancurd that comes in a spicy broth. The portion was not huge and is good for two small eaters. The overall taste was good and the vinegar did not overpower the overall flavours. My rating for this dish shall be 8/10. Similarly, their Sweet & Sour Vegetables was another good preparation. I enjoyed the mix of vegetables that had been added to the dish and as a complete dish, it was really good. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

Restoran Punjabi Junction @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

Restoran Punjabi Junction is a relatively new Punjabi restaurant that had opened it's doors sometime in April this year. They are located at the Centrus Mall, Cyberjaya which is located in CBD 3. Generally, they offer ala carte dishes but of late, they had started lunch buffet as well.

The Restaurant in Centrus Mall, Cyberjaya
I have visited them when they had just started sometime in April and found the food to be above average. However, I was told by many of my friends that their lunch buffet is pretty good. Having heard from a number of them, I decided to drop by this afternoon for lunch.

My Lunch @ RM 7.50
What they have is not really buffet concept but set meals instead. However, they have prepared a number of vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes for one to choose from and their sets are priced accordingly. Similarly, they also have a choice of Chapati or White Rice. I went for two Chapati's and two vegetables and this cost me RM 7.50 . Definitely not a cheap set lunch but if it's really good taste wise, then it should be fine.

Chapati
Their Chapati's are made to order and that's a plus point here. You get them hot and not those that have been made and kept in hot containers. Taste wise, their Chapati's were definitely good. The bread was soft and tasty. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

Potato With Beans

Dhall
Both vegetables that I tried were good, in fact, they were much better than the Ala-carte dishes that we tried when they had just opened. Certainly not made by the same chef as the last time too we had ordered the same Potato with Beans and it didn't taste this good. If I were to rate these, I would give them 8/10.

Restoran Punjabi Junction does have some good lunch sets to choose from and their Roti's are made to order thus ensuring you fresh and quality meals. Prices are steep though but taste wise, they are good. A good Punjabi restaurant to visit in Cyberjaya.

Restoran Jaipur Mahal @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

I had some guests this evening at office and they wanted to have something Indian. The first place that struck my mind was Jaipur Mahal. I guess the reason for that would be the overall ambiance at this restaurant along with the decent and not too expensive food that you get here.

Jaipur Mahal Located Along Jalan GC9, Glomac Cyberjaya
This restaurant is located along Jalan GC9 which is in Glomac Cyberjaya area. For those who are not familiar, they are the next block from Pelita Nasi Kandar. The ambiance is good, low lighting, air-conditioned dining hall and the waiters' service levels are excellent. They have a huge spread of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes to choose from.  In a matter of minutes, our ordering was done.

Ribbon Murukku

Kesari
The Ribbon Murukka and Kesari and complimentary starters that they always serve here. Both were nicely prepared and both were equally good. The Ribbon Murukku wasn't spicy as well and for those who intend on buying more, they do sell them in jars. Do ask any one of the waiters and they would be happy to assist you. Taste wise, both deserves a rating of 8/10.

Plain Rice

Butter Naan @ RM 4.90 each
We had ordered some rice and Butter Naan. I am not too sure what the price if the rice was as I had lost the receipt. However, their Butter Naan was priced at RM 4.90 each. The bread was good and they were generous with the butter as well. Soft and delicious and my rating for this shall be 8/10.

Chicken Tikka 4 Pieces @ RM 12 90

Mutton Rogan Josh @ RM 23.90
Their Chickken Tikka was marvellous. The meat was tender and it was so juicy. Amazing marination as well. This one surely deserves a rating of 9/10. Their Mutton Rogan Josh was good too but I have definitely tasted better ones. My rating for this shall be 8/10.

Malabar Fish Curry @ RM 21.90

Masala Tea @ RM 5.90
Their Malabar Fish Curry however wasn't up to my expectations. I had expected more spices to be in the dish and this preparation however was more mild to me. 6/10 would be my rating for this preparation. Their Masala Tea was decent and my rating for this shall be 7/10.

Restoran Jaipur Mahal is a lovely place to bring your family as well as your clients. The ambiance here is wonderful and the service levels are excellent. Food is good and they have a huge spread of vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes to choose from. Their prices aren't cheap but acceptable levels.
