Tanjung Malim Famous Wan Ton Noodles @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

Ask anyone from Tanjung Malim who has traveled vastly, where is the best Wan Ton Noodles, they would always say that nothing beats the one from Tanjung Malim and it is indeed true and not an overstatement. This Chinese Auntie has been selling these noodles since my childhood days. Those days the stall used to by the side of Bunga Raya Barber Shop and then they shifted to a number of locations around town. Today, this stall is located by the side of Maybank, Tanjung Malim.

The Stall
In the mornings, this stall is occupied by another vendor. This Auntie sells above the present wet market on the first floor in the mornings and come noon, she operates from here. It is not difficult to locate this stall. Come to Maybank and look at the far left end, you would observe this stall.

Variety of Add On's to Choose From
There is an indoor seating space as well as a covered outdoor seating area, both of which is quite comfortable. The Auntie prepares all the dishes herself. Besides Kon Low Mee, she also sells Curry Mee and Soup Noodles. There are a number of add on's that one could choose from and therefore it is best to head to the stall and choose the items yourself and inform her and then she would prepare accordingly.

Coca Cola

Chinese Tea

Chinese Herbal Tea

Nescafe @ RM 1.70
The drinks are sold by the restaurant operator. I do not have the breakdown of the prices but I know that the Nescafe is priced at RM 1.70 and this is the most expensive Nescafe in Tanjung Malim. Taste wise, it is good too and I would rate this at 8.8/10 . The total price for the drinks came to RM 5.50 and has to be paid when the drinks are served.

3 Pieces of Wan Ton's in Soup
The Wan Ton Noodles here is simply the best. It comes in choices of two sizes, big and small. Regardless of the size ordered, a small bowl with three pieces of Wan Ton's in clear soup is provided with each plate. The Wan Ton Noodles comes in a lavish amount of soy sauce along with some vegetables and Char Siew. All the ingredients are simply perfect and the noodles itself is soft and bouncy. I would rate this preparation as 10/10 . Whenever I try other places out, I would usually use this as the benchmark to measure others. Definitely a must try if you are a Wan Ton Noodles lover.

Wan Ton's in Clear Soup @ RM 2.00

Wan Ton's in Clear Soup @ RM 2.00
The Wan Ton dumplings are also a winner here. It is relatively big and chewy with delicious meat fillings. We ordered an extra bowl of 10 Wan Ton's and it was only RM 2.00 . This again is served in a delicious and MSG free clear soup. I would rate this at 9.8/10 .

Curry Mee

Curry Mee
The Curry Mee is another recommended dish here. It comes in a thick and delicious curry that wouldn't fail to win anyone's heart. Another must try dish here! I would rate this at 9.2/10 .

Mixed Yong Tau Fu in Curry

Besides the Curry Mee, we also ordered a bowl with a number of Yong Tau Fu items served in the Curry used for the Curry Mee. All these items are made by the Auntie herself and they are really good. I would rate them at 9/10 .

Mixed Yong Tau Fu in Clear Soup

Similar to the earlier dish, this one was served in clear soup. The soup is made without using any MSG and it was absolutely good. I would rate their clear soup at 8.7/10 .
