Red Lobster is an American chain that had opened it's very first outlet in Malaysia at The Intermark sometime in end 2014. I have always bookmarked this restaurant as a must visit place but due to it's location, that was still pending on my list. Gladly, they had opened two more outlets, one in Quill City Mall and another in Gamuda Walk Mall sometime beginning 2015. Since we had planned on watching Ola Bola this afternoon, I deliberately drove up to Quill City Mall. The plan was to watch the late afternoon show and followed by dinner at Red Lobster.

Open Air Seating Area |

Love The Design |
Their outlet in Quill City Mall is located on the Ground Floor and covers a large floor space with indoor and outdoor seating areas. The indoor area seemed a little small and cramped but loved the outdoor space. It was designed like a garden but the only setback was the heat. They had installed fan's but the distance was not calculated for ideal coverage. Hence, some places were much warmer as the fan's were just not helpful. Fortunately, the night was not that hot and it was bearable. That aside, I just loved the ambiance. The staffs were very helpful and super efficient. One need not try to catch their attention. They would always be looking out in case anyone needs any assistance. That was the kind of service levels here.

Live Lobsters With Weight Tags |
Great variety of dishes with the central theme being lobsters and some seafood dishes. Their specialty here are Maine and Rock Lobsters, prepared in a number of ways and available as a standalone dish or one that is incorporated with other seafood varieties. Obviously prices weren't cheap, well if you think about it when have lobsters been cheap and I was also told that the portions here were huge. Even those main entrees were good to be shared. So, having kept that in mind, I ordered a number of sides followed by two mains which should be more than sufficient for the three of us.

Complimentary Warm Water |
|
Pepsi @ RM 9.90 |
As for the drinks, my Dad and I were happy with a glass of water each and these were on the house. That was really great as most restaurants charge for these nowadays. My brother however had to have his Coca Cola. Unfortunately, they do not serve Coca Cola here but had Pepsi and that was priced at RM 9.90 per glass. I think they do have refills for a different price but not sure what it would be.

Complimentary Cheddar Bay Biscuits |
It's great that they offer these delicious biscuits complimentary and they were so good to be eaten when it is warm. Delicious, creamy and cheesy biscuits that literally melt in the mouth and one can go on requesting for more if you like them. Since we had ordered quite a bit, we were happy with just one basket. I would rate these at 8.5/10 .

Lobster, Crab and Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms @ RM 19.80 |
|
Baked With Mozzarella Cheese |
|
Cheesy Goodness!!! |
All side dishes here comes in two sizes, solo and sharing and this was the solo size which obviously we shared. That was the intention anyway. These were Lobster, Crab and Seafood stuffed Mushrooms that were baked with Mozzarella Cheese. You have to ensure to have the whole thing together and not bit by bit as that would alter the taste completely. After all, they were just bite size goodies and they tasted so good. Yes, it was just a small bit of each meat but the total package along with the mushroom and cheese tasted good. I would rate this at 7.5/10 .

Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp @ RM 15.90 |
|
Goes Well With The Pina Colada Dip |
These Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimps were so good and they were served with Pina Colada Dip. Coated with their signature batter and grated coconut, they were fried to a golden brown perfection and that gave it a crunchy feel followed by a juicy and bouncy shrimp beneath. And that Pina Colda dip added a sweet and tangy taste to it. Absolutely delicious and I would rate these at 9/10 .
|
Golden Fried Oysters @ RM 19.90 |
A must try dish for oyster lovers. These Golden Fried Oysters were coated in a thin and mild tasting batter, deep fried and served with sweet chili dips. Inside each one of those, there were at least three oysters and it was a treat. Crunchy on the outside and mushy on the inside and that sweet chili dip was a perfect combination. I would rate these at 8/10 .

Grilled Lobster, Shrimps and Scallops @ RM 116.50 |

A Closer Look At The Lobster and Shrimps |
|
Scallops and Butter Garlic Rice |
Having tried a number of sides, now going for our very first mains. This was their Grilled Lobster, Shrimps and Scallops and was served with some Broccoli and Garlic Butter Rice on the sides. A pretty decent combination and they were just awesome. All were grilled items over charcoal stoves and they tasted really good. Even the Lobster meat was tender and juicy. And that Garlic Butter Rice was excellent. To be honest, even with this dish plus the sides that we just had, we were already full. Though this dish seems small, it was relatively quite large. I would rate this at 9/10 .
|
Hand Battered Fish & Chips @ RM 34.00 |
This was the final dish that we tried tonight and this is their Hand Battered Fish & Chips. Do note that it wasn't as small as it would seem. The fish itself was a thick Salmon cut and it was as long as my forearm. That we divided into three and it was quite a challenge to finish. Not that it didn't taste good, in fact it was brilliant but simply because we were already stuffed from the earlier dishes. The fish was just fantastic!!! Fresh, juicy and amazingly good. And those chips, they tasted fantastic as well. Surely one of the better Fish & Chips that I have tasted and as such, I shall rate this at 9.5/10 .

The Brand |
In summary, I loved the food here. The food was good, the service was prompt and the prices I felt were reasonable as well. A great place for occasions or even for just a casual lobster dinner. And yes, not to forget the wonderful ambiance too.
