Restoran Yap Yin & Bak Kut Teh @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

This evening, we were looking for a new place to have dinner and since Seri Kembangan was a place that we had been recently targeting, we decided on relying on Google to suggest another good restaurant for dinner. It was then this restaurant came about and it seemed to have lot's of positive reviews.

The Restaurant Along Jalan Sekolah

Indoor & Outdoor Seats Available

Full House This Evening
This restaurant is located in Seri Kembangan New Village. If you know where the famous Curry Mee stall is in Seri Kembangan, this restaurant is just a few doors away. Parking is not really organised here and you could very much park along the side of the road. This restaurant is open from 1130 am till 1000 pm daily. We were here at around 8 pm and being peak hours, the restaurant was full house. The good thing here is that they have a huge dining space and the entire indoor seating area is air-conditioned. Although the name mentions Bak Kut Teh, they actually have all that you would get in a Chinese Seafood Restaurant and that includes mangrove crabs as well. Since there were just the two of us, there was a limit as to what we could order and we decided to try they Bak Kut Teh and another signature dish.

Bak Kut Teh (1 pax) @ RM 15.00

Good Mix Of Ingredients
Since Bak Kut Teh is one of the famous dishes here, we decided to try for one pax and I felt that the portion was quite huge. It came with a reasonable mix of pork (your choice of cuts), Tofu and Enoki Mushrooms in a medium bodied tea. The meat cut was good and it was fresh. The tea however could have been better. My rating for this dish would be 7/10.

Sang Yu @ RM 30.00
This Sliced Deboned Haruan Fish Steamed with Essence of Chicken and Soy Sauce is a signature dish here. For the portion, theorise is definitely very reasonable since Haruan itself is pretty costly these days. I found the preparation to be really good and it was great that they had deboned the fish. The base sauce was heavenly as well. A dish that I would highly recommend and my rating for this dish shall be 9/10.

Bill For The Evening
Although this place is known as a Bak Kut Teh restaurant, they do serve all the dishes that you would generally find in a Chinese Seafood restaurant, and that includes crabs as well. Their Bak Kut Teh was decent and the highlight of the evening was their Steamed Haruan Fish in Essence of Chicken which is a signature dish here. That was something that we totally enjoyed and their prices are quite reasonable. The latter is definitely a dish that I would highly recommend.
