Kon Loh Mee Stall in Restoran Yau Lee @ Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur

Restoran Yau Lee is one of those Chinese coffee shops that operate from breakfast till lunch. This restaurant is located along Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur and is just a few doors away from KK Mart and KK Hotel. It isn't easy to sight this restaurant from the street as it is blocked by the overhead pedestrians crossing. Unless you cross the street from KL General Hospital and walk over to the row of shops, you would not even know that a coffee shop exists there.

The Restaurant Along Jalan Pahang

Simple But Very Clean
This coffee shop is open daily from 7 am till 3 pm. I was here as early as 7.30 am and even then, there were quite a number of customers who were already there. There's just two stalls here. A noodles stall and a Chinese Mixed Rice stall that starts around 10 am. Despite being a very old shop, the upkeep was good and the place was very clean. There were lot's of posters from the 70's on the walls and that amused me. It also shows the antiquity of this restaurant. One huge poster that amazed me was the picture of Elvis.

Local Coffee @ RM 1.50
Being in a coffee shop, how can I not try their local coffee. This coffee that you see above was priced at RM 1.50 which is a very reasonable price. The coffee was bold, strong and mildly sweet. Perfectly fixed and I would give this 9/10.

Kon Loh Mee With A Bowl of Soup @ RM 5.00
This noodles stall has Curry Mee, Soup version, Hor Fun and Kon Loh Mee. The small sized one is priced at RM 5.00 and the larger one is fifty cents more. Even though the plate of noodles that I ordered was the small one, the portion was satisfying.

The noodles were wonderful. Absolutely nothing to complain. The egg noodles were delicious and sufficiently soaked in a generous pool of soy sauce. The veggies provided were also fresh.

Char Siew
Their Char Siew had a very unique taste to it. I am not sure if there is another style of preparation to this but this definitely tasted very different to the rest. Loved it for sure. Instead of just limiting it to Char Siew, they had also provided some Steamed Chicken as well. As far as this dish is concerned, I would very happily give it a 8/10.

Wan Tan in Soup

Tasty They Were
On the sides, there were Wan Tan in soup which again was quite tasty. The Wan Tan's had a good amount of meat and the flavours were excellent. As for this, I would also give this a 8/10.

If you happened to be around Jalan Pahang in the mornings, you might want to give this stall a try. Good food and very reasonable prices.
