Soon Lee Prawn Mee stall is located along the row of stalls near The Store at 5th Mile, Jalan Ipoh just before the roundabout. This stall is about 150 meters before the KFC. We have been dining at this stall for more than 30 years now and by far, it is one of the best Prawn Mee that you get in Kuala Lumpur.

Directly Opposite This Shop |
This stall is the third stall from the middle divider and is located directly opposite the Kedai Serbaneka Yin Ma. They occupy two stall lots thus giving more seating space for customers. It is usually open from around 2 pm and close around 11 pm. There is a small sign saying Prawn Mee at this stall and you would notice photographs of Hong Kong celebrities adorning one of the glass cabinets here. This was taken when these celebrities visited this stall. It is interesting to see that the fame of this stall has even spread over to Hong Kong. The workers are mostly foreigners and they are very efficient when attending to customers. In fact, nowadays the food preparation is also done by these workers and the boss just supervises them.

The Prawn Mee here comes with dried shrimps instead of fresh prawns but for an additional RM 3.00, you get fresh prawns and that too large ones. The broth is also very delicious. Prawn Mee lovers would definitely enjoy the preparation here. I would rate his Prawn Mee at 9.5/10 . A highly recommended dish!

Char Kuey Teow @ RM 5.50 |
Another famous food item here is their Char Kuey Teow. I saw quite a number of customers ordering this too and after my Prawn Mee was done, I decided to give this a try. The Char Kuey Teow was again good. There were eggs, prawns, cockles and whole load of other ingredients making it a rich dish. As the saying goes, the 'Wok Hei' was well preserved in this dish making it truly delicious. I would rate this at 9/10 . Besides this, they also have Fried Mee and Lam Mee at this stall but the main dish here, is their Prawn Mee.

Chili & Belacan Paste |
Regardless of the dish you have here, do not forget to try their Chili and Belacan Paste. This is made by them and is absolutely wonderful. Goes well with both the Prawn Mee and Char Kuey Teow. I would rate their Chili Paste at 9.3/10 .
Surely a hidden gem this is as not many KL'ites know of it's existence. If you love Prawn Mee, then this stall is a must try. Worth travelling the distance for a bowl of good Prawn Mee. The only problem is that this guy closes his stall randomly without fixed dates and it is best to give him a call before heading there. I have provided the contact details below.
