While taking a drive last night looking for new eateries to explore, we discovered this Food Court that is located in Taman Kajang Prima. It seems to have been around for a number of years now and the place looked crowded. Since the vital signs seemed good (based on the crowd there), we decided to give the place a try.
The Food Court In Taman Kajang Prima |
This place is easily noticeable when you're driving along the main road even before turning in to this Taman. Such a huge food court and there would easily be around 40 stalls. A huge indoor and open air seating area is available and right beside that open air seating, you'd see a large plot of land that is a dedicated parking lot for this food court. Clearly this place is managed by a team of experts who know their stuff. This food court is open from 6 am and goes on till 2 am daily. In the morning, there's a different set of stalls and operators and come 5 pm, the evening shift arrives and this entry is based on the evening shift that operates till 2 am.
Char Kuey Teow Stall |
The first food stall that we tried was the Char Kuey Teow stall. Manned by a gentleman from Penang, his style of frying was quite similar to the one that we get in Penang. For RM 6.00 , the portion was satisfying and it did taste good. Not only was he generous with the cockles, he was also quite generous with the eggs. Taste wise, I would give this 8/10.
Wantan Mee Stall |
Wantan Mee @ RM 6.00 |
Fish Ball & Wonton In Soup |
There's another stall selling Wantan Mee and we had ordered a plate as well. The large one was priced at RM 6.00 and it came with some dumplings and fish balls in clear soup. The noodles were very good. Beyond that, I was even more impressed with the Char Siew. It had such a lovely texture that one would fall in love with it right away. Not only did they add Char Siew, they had also topped this with some minced pork. This is the first time that I am coming across Wantan Mee that comes with Char Siew and minced pork. Seemed like a hybrid between Kolo and Konloh Mee but taste wise it was very impressive. I would give this dish 9/10. The dumplings were very good too. Soft, chewy and juicy dumplings made just right. Definitely one that deserves a rating of 9/10.
Fish Ball Noodles Stall |
Delicious Fish Balls @ RM 0.70 each |
This stall is run by a Thai couple and their speciality is their Fish Balls, Fish Cake and Fuchok. All three items are made by them. Slightly pricey, but they were totally worth it. The Fish Balls were so soft and fresh. One need not go for their noodles and may opt to have just these like we did tonight. Highly recommended and I would give this 9/10 as well.
This food court does offer a wide variety of dishes at reasonable prices. The dishes that we tried this evening were definitely up to our expectations. Besides the good food, parking is easy too. Surely an excellent place for dinner in Kajang.
