If you happen to be around Kota Damansara area during lunch, then I would strongly recommend this restaurant called Restaurant Big Family. This restaurant is located in Taman Industri Sungai Buloh which is exactly at the intersection between Kota Damansara and the old Sungai Buluh - Subang Airport road right opposite the old Projet Station, which is now a Shell petrol station.

Parking Can Be A Problem Here |
|
Packed During Peak Hours |
It is difficult to miss this restaurant as it is clearly visible from the main road. During weekdays, parking can be a problem here but if you go around in circles, you should eventually find a place to park. There are at least 30 stalls here during lunch serving a number of variety from Chinese to Western dishes. Most of the stalls here are usually sold out by around 3 pm and so it is advisable to come early.

Chili Paste |
For RM 5.50, it comes with a lavish portion of fish paste, prawns, pork and noodles in it. Taste wise, this was the best Prawn Mee that I have tasted in the whole of Petaling Jaya. The broth was thick and really delicious. The accompanying chili paste too was very good. It had been a long time where I ended up drinking the entire broth like today. A perfect dish and I would rate this at 9.8/10 . Definitely a must try for Prawn Mee lovers!

Bird Eye Chilies |
The Bak Kut Teh was just the standard one that you get at non specialty restaurants. It came with a light brown broth, lean meat cuts (as requested), some tofu and a bowl of white rice. Other rice varieties are not available here. If you are okay with a standard preparation, then this would do but if you fancy those authentic Bak Kut Teh's, then this may not be your preferred choice. For me, I would rate this at 7.5/10 .

Wonderful Fillings |
The Popiah, priced at RM 2.00 each was heavenly. It has been a long time since I had a good Popiah like this. The skin was soft, filled with heavenly goodness and loads of chili paste and perfectly wrapped so that it doesn't break off when you try lifting it with chopsticks. This definitely reminds me of the Popiah that we get in Ipoh. Fantastic preparation and I would rate this at 9.9/10 .

Soft and Fluffy Fish Balls |
Having noticed the huge newspaper write up on this Fish Ball stall, I decided to try them out too. I opted for just the plain fish ball soup and that came at a price of RM 5.40 for 6 fish balls in a clear soup. The soup was nice but it was clear that they had used MSG. The fish balls however, were superb. They were extremely soft, almost like melting in the mouth. Definitely no flour nor Boric acid had been added to it. Good stuff and I would rate their Fish Balls at 9.4/10 .
This restaurant cum mini food court has definitely loads of good food to offer. Do note that they only operate from breakfast to lunch and most of the stalls are only open during lunch from 11 am to 3 pm.
