Sri Paandi Group of restaurants is a brand that most people are familiar with. They have been around for many years and have branches in a number of locations in the Klang Valley. Of late, I had stopped going to the ones in the Klang Valley because I found their food quality to be going down. This outlet in Kajang however still maintains the quality that we used to taste at Sri Paandi during their early years.

The Restaurant Located Along Jalan Semenyih |
To those that are familiar with Kajang, it's quite easy to locate this restaurant. Just look for Prescott Hotel Kajang and this restaurant is right beside it. Parking can however be a problem here and my suggestion would be to come during the weekends.

Banana Leaf Rice Meal @ RM 5.85 |
Their basic Banana Leaf Rice Meal set is priced at RM 5.85 and this comes with unlimited refills of rice, curries, Rasam, 4 vegetables, Appalam, Moor Milagai and Thovayal. A very reasonably priced meal.

Vegetables & Thovayal |
|
Rasam |
All four vegetables served were good. They were fresh and deliciously prepared. My rating for these shall be 8/10. Their Thovayal was excellent. The blend was so perfect and went perfectly with the rice. This I shall rate at 9/10. Their Rasam however was slightly on the salty side. Otherwise, it was made with sufficient amount of spices. Nevertheless, that saltiness did affect the taste and for that alone, I am giving it 6.10.

Chicken Curry |
|
Venthaya Kulambu |
Both curries that I had tasted were good but between the two, I would say that their Venthaya Kulambu was better. I would rate the previous at 8/10 and the latter at 9/10.
|
Masala Egg @ RM 2.20 each |
|
Mutton Varuval @ RM 7.40 |
Their Masala Egg was delicious and it had come with lots of gravy. The gravy itself was infused with lots of spices giving it such a fabulous taste. My rating for this shall be 8/10. Their Mutton Varuval was another excellent preparation. Lean cuts were served and it came with some bones since I had requested for it. The mutton was so tender and the overall dish was very tasty. My rating for this shall be 9/10.
|
Masala Prawns @ RM 6.90 |
|
Fried Tenggiri Fish @ RM 5.30 each |
Their Masala Prawns were nice. The only setback was that they had used some very small prawns and that being the case, the gravy overpowered the dish. For me, I would have still preferred the taste of the prawns itself to stand out and as such, I shall rate this at 7/10. Fish and Chicken are fried upon request and we went for the Fried Tenggiri Fish. Priced at RM 5.30 each, these were just so good. The marination was perfect, deep fried to perfection and the meat was so juicy. I would definitely give this 10/10.

Our Bill For The Day |
For a good South Indian Meal in Kajang, I would recommend Restoran Sri Paandi. The food that you get at this outlet is so good and is way better when compared to the other Sri Paandi's in the Klang Valley. Delicious food, reasonable prices and excellent customer service. Good job to their staffs for the excellent work!

Been staying in kajang for 23 years. Have stopped eating in sri paandi for many years now. Just because of their cleanliness. They have been shut multiple times ti di cleaning. Well since last year there have been a few new indians shops so we prefer going there. Try vimal spice (near convent kajang same row as ambank), vellan curry house (kajang prima - u have to try here its banana leaf meal) , ravi corner is closed and a new banana leaf meal shop has been open at the same spot n lastly there is a homecooked meal newly open in kajang perdana - Restoran staranise... Do these new shops n give ur review 😊
