After having had some excellent rest at the new hotel in Kuantan, we set out on our road trip to visit a few more places. After our first visit, it was almost 10.30 am and we were hungry. The next destination is about an hour away for us and it is a temple that requires quite a bit of trekking. That being the case, we decided to have a good breakfast in Kuantan. Although it was the second day of Chinese New Year, luckily we managed to stumble across this Dim Sum restaurant that is located along Jalan Dato Wong Ah Jang in Kuantan.

Milk Coffee |
When I checked with the owner, he mentioned that it was his first week of business and that being the reason, he did not want to close during this Chinese New Year holidays as that would be his chance to attract most customers. Definitely that makes sense and we were glad that we were able to check out a new eatery. His business hours are from7 am till 1 pm daily. Since it was a relatively new restaurant, he had not been able to be full force in terms of staffing and all that were there this morning were his family members. Business was fantastic and people were queuing up. In fact, they could not take specific orders and we had to make do with whatever that was coming out of the kitchen as it was freshly steamed and fried. So, I had to make a couple of trips there just to make sure that we get to try as many things as possible. Coming to their drinks, they did not have someone who could make these and he had installed a modern coffee maker that only makes milk coffee. Having had no choice, we decided to go for it and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The coffee was awesome and we enjoyed every sip of it. My rating for this drink shall be 9/10.

Fish Balls |
We tried the above steamed items and they were absolutely excellent. Very authentic preparation and it was unlike the common ones that we get in the city. All were handmade and they were so fresh and delicious. My rating for their steamed variety would be 9/10.

Yam Balls |

Cuttlefish Variety |
Both the fried variety that we had tried were again excellent. In fact, they were so good that we ordered another helping of the Yam Balls. Again, very impressive items and I would definitely rate these at 9/10.

Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun with Char Siew |

Custard Buns |

Char Siew Bao |
Again, all the three items that we had were excellent. In fact, I must agree that the Char Siew Bao was simply out of this world. Very generous with the stuffings too. Again, these too deserve no less that 9/10.
After having had a feast of a Dim Sum breakfast, we were surprised to learn that the bill was only RM 56.80 and that is including the drinks that we had. I am very certain that we would not be able to find this kind of pricing in Kuala Lumpur. Moreover, each and every item that we had tasted was excellent. Fresh, homemade Dim Sum at very reasonable prices. A must visit restaurant in Kuantan.
