Satay Putera is the newest Satay Restaurant to open up in Kajang, Selangor. I believe they have been in business for a month or two now. I was passing Jalan Mendaling which is right in town centre and that was when I saw this place. They are just a few doors away from the Chinese Temple.

The Entrance To The Restaurant |
|
Beautiful Designs |
Actually, there are two entrances to this restaurant. One is through Jalan Mendaling but this section of the restaurant is only open on weekdays. The other entrance is from the back where the river is. Nevertheless, even if you come from Jalan Mendaling, you could walk through to the other end of the restaurant where the cooking is done. The place is beautifully designed and they have some lovely concept spaces. For those who prefer air-conditioned dining rooms, that too is available.
Their menu is quite simple but sufficient and their prices seem pretty reasonable. The owners are Chinese but the place is Halal certified and you get to see a lot of Muslim patrons. Each table has a stack of the order chit. Just tick the relevant boxes and write the quantity and you're done.

Homemade Barley Lime @ RM 3.90 each |
|
Otak Otak @ RM 1.20 Each |
We ordered Barley Lime which was priced at RM 3.90 per glass and it was nice. Not diluted and you get to taste the lime. My rating for this drink shall be 8/10. We had also ordered some Otak Otak but in limited quantity. This was purely for tasting purposes and they were priced at RM 1.20 each. The Otak Otak was larger than usual and it was extremely good. No smell and it was very tasty. It wouldn't be wrong to say that this was one of the best Otak Otak that we had tasted. My rating for this shall be 10/10.
|
Satay Set |
We had ordered both Chicken and Mutton Satay but these Chicken Satay came first. Loved the traditional settings and they were served with some very fresh and juicy cucumber and peanut sauce in cups. Of course, if you want more, you could always ask for more.

Chicken Satay @ RM 1.20 each |
|
Mutton Satay @ RM 1.90 each |
Both their Chicken and Mutton Satay were good. The marination wasn't too sweet and it was just perfect for the peanut dip sauce. The meat was tender and no fat as well. My rating for their Chicken and Mutton Satay shall be 8/10.
|
Ketupat @ RM 1.20 each |
|
Fresh Cucumbers |
Their Ketupat was good as well. Nowadays, most places only serve Nasi Impit and it was a surprise to find Ketupat here. Decent pricing and it did taste good. 8/10 shall be my rating for this.

Peanut Dip Sauce |
|
Spicy Chili |
Their Peanut Dip Sauce wasn't sweet and the peanuts were coarsely ground. If you would like to add some chilli to make it spicy, do ask for some chilli and they'd happily serve you. I found it better that way.
