Restaurant Fu Man is another famous Chinese restaurant in Tanjung Malim that is preferred by the locals. This restaurant has been around for more than a decade now and almost everyday, both for lunch and dinner, they are full house. Another reason for this is also their arrangements with some tour companies whereby you would find bus loads of tourists stop by here for their meals. The food here has always been good and the price is very reasonable.

Staffs Being Busy |
Located in Taman Universiti, this restaurant has two floors. The Ground Floor is similar to any other Chinese Restaurant and the First Floor is designed more like a hall and is air-conditioned. When there are no functions, the First Floor is open to other diners as well. We were here at 8.30 pm and as you can see from the above photographs, the restaurant was full house. They close at sharp 10.30 pm and usually by 10 pm, they would start declining any new customers that walk in. I do not blame them for that as you would be able to see their tiredness on their faces and they too need their well deserved break. Most of their signature dishes are photographed and hung on the walls and this would assist those first timers in placing their orders as they do not have a menu here.

Ordering here is quite simple and since we are used to their menu, it was a breeze for us. Despite the busy hours, the staffs are very attentive to customers calls and would always attend to customers almost instantaneously.

Their Homemade Seaweed Tofu is one of their signature dishes and it is a must try dish. The Tofu has a layer of seaweed on the bottom and the Tofu itself is extremely soft and delicious. This dish is topped with Enoki Mushrooms and Prawns and has Soy and Abalone Sauce poured around it. The dish is simply delicious and I would rate this dish at 9.3/10 .

This was another dish that was not available as their usual offerings and it was specially prepared for us as I had requested for it. Despite that, the minced meat patty was wonderfully steamed and flavoured. I definitely think that it was an excellent first attempt. The meat patty was soft and fluffy and was steamed to just the right level. The sauces too added to the taste and it was really good. I would rate this dish at 9/10 .

Mixed Vegetable Soup @ RM 8.00 |
The Soup, though a fairly simple dish, tasted absolutely good. There was nothing much in it but taste wise it was very satisfying. There was no MSG added and all flavourings were natural. For the price of RM 8.00, the portion was good and it was good to serve each of us two helpings of the soup. I would rate this dish at 9.4/10 .

Steamed Fish With Ginger @ RM 20.00 |
This was the superstar dish of the day. I have tried this dish in a number of places including some of the famous high end restaurants in Kuala Lumpur but this preparation would beat them all. The fish was simply juicy and there was a lavish amounts of ginger on the fish. Definitely a perfect preparation that deserves nothing less than a 10/10 . This would definitely be a highly recommended dish at this restaurant.
Overall, all the food that we had today was just excellent and the prices were very reasonable if not cheap for the portion sizes. Perhaps now you would be able to see why this shop is very much preferred by the locals and I have seen a number of large families that drive up from Kuala Lumpur to have their meals here. If you are in this part of the country, I would strongly recommend you to drop by and try the food here.
