This entry is about one of my favourite Yong Tau Foo joints in Kuala Lumpur. Whenever I need a Yong Tau Foo fix, I would surely come here.

Ipoh Road Hakka Yong Tau Foo at Taman Wangsa Permai |
|
A Simple Set Up |
This outlet is located in Taman Wangsa Permai but the main access road is through Desa Aman Puri, Kepong. If you key in the address into a GPS, it is surely easy to find. Otherwise, it may be slightly difficult to find this place as it is a stand alone shop by the roadside heading into Desa Aman Puri from Jalan Sungai Buloh. From the main trunk road, it may seem quite dark but do drive slowly and you would not miss this restaurant.

Simple Layout |

Simple Layout |
This restaurant, as you can see, is very simple in layout. Sometimes, there may be some dogs in the restaurant too but they are harmless. Previously, the Chinese boss used to be here but now it is manned by some very qualified Bangladeshis. The service here is very efficient and the food is excellent.

Herbal Tea @ RM 1.40 |
|
My Favourite Sauce |
The Herbal Tea here is one of my favourites. It is pure and mildly sweetened and home made. It is a must get item every time I come here. I would rate that drink at 9/10 . The ordering system here is pretty simple. You would be given an order chit and you just tick the boxes and indicate the number of pieces and then pass it over to them. As the dishes get ready, they would be sent over to your table.
|
Cheong Fun @ RM 1.30 |
The Cheong Fun here comes plain without any Sweet or Chilly Sauce. You would need to flavour it to your preferred taste which is very practical I feel.
|
Cheong Fun To My Taste |
As you can see, we have added the sauces according to our preferred taste. I feel this is a better was as flexibility is given to the customer to fix the dish to their taste buds.
|
Assam Fish @ RM 6.00 |
This is another dish that I truly loved. Perfectly done. The right balance of sourness and spiciness with a rich thick gravy as the base. The Kembong Fish was steamed perfectly too. Just loved it. I would rate this 9/10 again.
|
Fish Balls |
|
Fried Beaucurd, Steamed Stuffed Beancurd, Lady's Finger & Bittergourd |
|
Fried Fu Chok & Sui Gau |
|
Steamed Sui Gau |
As you can see, some of these is served in peppery clear soup and some in the thick dark broth. This is Hakka Style and is supposed to be eaten with white rice, though I usually eat them just like that. They have a good variety of Yong Tau Foo items and they are all good. I would rate this variety here at 9/10 and that is why it is one of my all time favourites. The total cost for the Yong Tau Foo was RM 18.70 .
Overall, this is a great place to get your Yong Tau Foo fix, especially if you love the authentic Hakka Style. The prices are very reasonable too. The total bill for the night came to RM 27.40 which is quite cheap for a good meal in Kuala Lumpur. This place is without doubt one of the best places in Kuala Lumpur to get the Hakka Style Yong Tau Foo.
