This restaurant has been around for a number of years now but somehow, we had never visited it. Having read some good reviews on Foursquare, I decided to drop by this afternoon for lunch.

U One Me Cafe in Taman Loke Yew, Tanjung Malim |
|
Interior of the Restaurant |
|
Simple and clean layout |
The design of this restaurant is somewhat similar to a cafe and it was quite clean. The only problem here is finding a suitable place to park and this problem is mainly contributed by the excellent town planning by the local council, thanks to the guys at the Majlis Daerah.

Going Through The Menu |
The service at this restaurant is quite fast and we were immediately attended to. Generally the food here can be divided to three main dishes with various sub variations. They are Pan Mee, Fish Head Noodles and Porridge. It was a long list that we had to go through before finally deciding. Thanks to the friendly waiter as he was helpful to stand by us and explain all our questions. Do note this is a non Halal restaurant.

Plain Water @ RM 0.30 |

Iced Coffee @ RM 1.50 |

Coffee @ RM 1.20 |
The drinks arrived very fast too. We had a glass of plain water, one Iced Coffee and one Coffee. Both the coffee drinks were well fixed and I would rate them at 8/10 .

Yee Mee @ RM 4.00 |

Yee Mee @ RM 4.00 |
The dishes too arrived fairly quickly. The first to arrive was the above Yee Mee. For the price of RM 4.00, the portion was quite huge. Besides, there was a decent amount of vegetables and meat and they were also lavish with the broth. The dish tasted good though not the best that I had tried but still good. I would rate the above at 8.5/10 .

Minced Meat Pan Mee @ RM 5.50 |

Minced Meat Pan Mee @ RM 5.50 |
Again, the portion was really huge. There was a lot of Pan Mee in the dish and also with a lavish amount of Pork Balls and minced meat. Here, you could choose the type of noodle that you want if you do not prefer to have the Pan Mee without any additional charges. The soup was delicious and so were the Pork Balls and the minced meat. The Pan Mee was slightly on the thick side and would have been better if it was slightly thinner. Nevertheless, a satisfying dish and I would rate this at 8.7/10 .

Fish Head Soup Mee Hoon @ RM 7.00 |
|
Generous with the Fish Head |
Fish Head Noodles here are available in both varieties, with or without milk. My dad prefers without milk and hence he went for that. Though priced at RM 7.00, it was worth it as they were very generous with the fried Fish Head. The broth too was wonderfully flavoured with tomatoes and ginger and thus making this a perfect dish. Definitively an excellent preparation and I would rate this at 9/10 .
|
Spicy Chili Paste |
Their Homemade Chili Paste is a must try for chili lovers. It is perfectly balanced with vinegar and has a stinging after effect to it. Excellent stuff and I would rate this at 9.6/10 .

Lunch in Progress |
Though simple, it was a very satisfying lunch. The prices were very acceptable, the portions were huge, the service was excellent & speedy and the food itself was good. What else can we ask for in a restaurant. This place definitely comes highly recommended!
