Abuya Satay House is a Malay restaurant located in Taman Berop Idaman that specialises in Satay. I believe that they have been open for almost a year now but I have never got a chance to visit them anytime earlier. Today, I suddenly though about this place and decided to give it a try for lunch.

This restaurant is just a few doors away from the Petronas Station and along the same row of shops as Chong Motors. This restaurant belongs to a family and it is very much the family members that man the restaurant. As it was late afternoon, the place was quiet when I arrived. The restaurant was very neat and clean and I like the practice of displaying the price of food items for customers' reference so as to avoid any confusion later on. Since I was the only customer, service was speedy. I placed my orders and the boy got on to prepare my Satay. It was good to note that all Satay's were freshly prepared upon order. This ensures that customers get hot food and that is the best way to have Satay's.

Teh Tarik @ RM 1.30 |
Their Teh Tarik was just average, in fact I left more than half as it was way too sweet for me. Perhaps those that love their tea to be very sweet would enjoy this. For me, it was definitely a No. I would rate their Tea at 5/10 .

My Satay Served |
Within minutes, the Satay was ready and served at my table. I loved the way they were arranged. I ordered 5 sticks of Chicken Satay and 5 sticks of Mutton Satay and this was served with the Peanut Sauce and some freshly sliced cucumber.

Chicken Satay @ RM 0.80 per stick |
The Chicken Satay's were not too thick and not too thin. At just the right size, it was fat free and only lean meat were used. I loved the marination as it was slightly sweet and mildly spicy. The Chicken Satay was delicious and so far, this is one of the best in town. The Satay too was tender and not hard. I would rate this at 9/10.

Mutton Satay @ RM 1.30 each |
Their Mutton Satay was very good! In fact, it was anytime better than the Mutton Satay available at Haji Samuri's Satay Kajang. Perfectly marinated, lean chunks that were still tender and juicy when served. Loved these! I would rate this at 9.4/10 . Definitely the best Mutton Satay in town!

Freshly Sliced Cucumbers |
The Cucumber's too were freshly sliced and they were good. Perfect with the Peanut Sauce. Do note that they do not serve sliced onions at this restaurant.

Peanut Sauce |
Coarsely ground Peanuts made into a delicious batter that were so delicious even on their own. The preparation too had very minimal oil. I would say that this is the best Peanut Sauce that I have tasted in Tanjung Malim. I would rate this at 9.6/10 .
I was very happy with what I had this afternoon. Everything that I tried, except for the Tea, was very good and the Peanut Sauce was simply awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Satay here in Tanjung Malim.
