Fat Boss Fish Ball @ Kajang, Selangor

We were here a couple of weeks back and having been impressed with the food, I decided to drop by again this morning and this time, with more friends. This restaurant is very famous for their Fish Balls and most often, they are sold out by 2 pm.

The above are all that you would get here. Their main business is breakfast and perhaps early lunch and if you want to try some of their specialty dishes, I would recommend coming early in the morning. The last time around, I had their Soup Noodles and it was just amazing. This time, I am thinking of trying another dish. Just like any other stall, orders are taken at your table and do note that you may have to wait a while for a table during peak hours.

Iced Coffee

Fried Pork
Their Iced Coffee was good. It tasted very much like the ones that we get in those old school Hainanese restaurants and my rating for this preparation shall be 9/10. Another good one to try here would be their Fried Pork. It's a mixture of lean meat and fat, sliced thinly, marinated and deep fried. It's so good to even have it on it's own. My rating for this shall be 10/10.

Soy Sauce Noodles

Assorted Items in Clear Soup
I tried their Soy Sauce Noodles and again, it was marvellous. Not the usual Wantan Mee but it was really good. It was a mix of noodles and they were very generous with the sauces. 10/10 would be my rating for this preparation. This dish also comes with a bowl of assorted ingredients like their famous Fish Balls, Tofu and Fish Cake and they were all good. 10/10 shall be my rating for these too.

Minced Pork Noodle

Fish Ball & Tofu
Their Minced Pork Noodles was another excellent preparation. The noodles were light and springy and the minced pork had some lovely flavours. It wouldn't be wrong for me to give this preparation a 10/10 as well as it totally deserves it. Once again, this dish comes with a bowl of Fish Balls and Tofu. As mentioned earlier, they were truly excellent.

For some excellent noodles in Kajang / Semenyih area, my recommendation would be to visit Fat Boss Fish Ball Restaurant that is located in Taman Teknologi Kajang. Every dish that we tried was so good and their Fish Balls were excellent.

Fat Boss Fish Ball @ Kajang, Selangor

Fat Boss Fish Ball is a place in Bandar Teknologi Kajang that is very famous for their Fish Balls and noodles. Despite being very close to where I am, I only got to know about them recently and here I am this morning for breakfast.

The Restaurant Located Along Jalan 1/10, Taman Teknologi Kajang

Lots Of Newspaper Write Ups On The Walls

Cutlery & Sauces
This place is open for breakfast till lunch and my recommendation would be to come early since they sell out very fast. During peak hours, you would have to wait in line for a table. I was here around 10.00 am and even then, the place was crowded. As you can see, they have been highlighted so many times in many of the local newspapers. In fact, they have been even interviewed on TV, that's how famous this place is.

Mee Hoon Soup + Extra Fried Pork @ RM 8.30
Depending on the type of noodles that you order, it comes with a fixed number of add on's. Of course, if this isn't enough, you could always add more. For example, I added extra Fried Pork which you can see and that cost me an extra RM 2.00.

Tasty Soup

Excellent Fish Balls

Heavenly Fried Pork
Their Soup was just awesome and it's quite difficult to find soup that is this good. Their Fish Balls are handmade and that is clearly seen from the inconsistent shape. The Fish Balls were so soft and it had a fishy taste which is good. It clearly shows that they have been using generous amount of fish instead of adding it with flour. Their Fried Pork was just so good too. Overall, I would rate this dish at 10/10.

Iced Coffee @ RM 2.20
Their Iced Coffee was excellent as well. It had the authentic flavours of those that you would find at those old school Hainanese Restaurants. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

This is definitely one of the best Mee Hoon Soup that I have had. Despite being a simple soup, it had such lovely flavours. Their Fish Balls were handmade and they were very generous with the ratio of meat and flour. Their Fried Pork is a must try too. Truly, one of the best noodle dishes that I had come across.

Restoran Semenyih Fish Kitchen @ Kajang, Selangor

Restoran Semenyih Fish Kitchen is located inBandar Teknologi Kajang but due to it's locality that is closer to Semenyih, it has been classified as being in Semenyih. There are so many eateries in this area and it is just now that I am slowly visiting them one by one.

The Main Kitchen At Nights

Famous Fish Ball Stall During The Day

Their Menu

During the day, the main kitchen is closed and they only start business at 5 pm onwards. If you were to come here in the mornings, then the main highlight would be Fat Boy Fish Ball Noodles which apparently seems to be extremely famous in Kajang. In fact, they are even more famous than the main restaurant that is opened in the evenings. Perhaps, someday I should pay that stall a visit too. As for this restaurant that operates in the evenings, they have a limited menu which includes most of the Fried dishes and a number of other dishes. That being so, we decided to keep our orders simple and we ordered one Fried Rice, one Moonlight Char Kuey Teow and another Pork dish.

Fried Rice @ RM 7.00

Moonlight Char Kuey Teow @ RM 6.00
Their Fried Rice was decent. In fact, taste wise, it was quite common in that sense and nothing to shout about. Just plain decent food I would say and my rating for this dish shall be 7/10. Their Moonlight Char Kuey Teow was quite similar and it was nowhere close to some of the best ones that I have tasted. This too, is edible but is nothing to shout about. My rating for this shall be 7/10 as well.

Thinly Sliced Deep Fried Pork @ RM 15.00
Apologies for the picture quality as the lighting was quite dim. This dish however was excellent. Pork slices were thinly cut and deep fried in soy sauce. It was crispy, juicy and really delicious. Something pretty unique and my rating for this shall be 9/10.

If you're in Bandar Teknologi Kajang, Restoran Semenyih Fish Kitchen would be a good place to have your dinner. It's a typical day to day Chinese restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the food is decent.

Seow Man Hot Soups @ Semenyih, Selangor

In my previous blog entries, I have posted a number of places in Kajang that is famous for the Hot Soup which is native to Kajang. In today's blog, let me introduce another such place, except that this place is located in Semenyih.

Show Man Hot Soups in Semenyih

Clean And Organised Set Up

Cutlery
This restaurant is located in Taman Teknologi Kajang which is where the Billion Supermarket is. It is located inside an industrial area. Nevertheless, if you use Waze or Google Maps, it shall accurately bring you to this restaurant. The set up is simple and the premises is clean and tidy.

The Menu
Their menu is fairly straightforward. These are the only items that are available at this restaurant. It is good that they have decided to keep the offering simple and only offer food items which they are good at. Pries seem reasonable too.

Hot Soup @ RM 15.00

Rice Wine Chicken @ RM 15.00
They have all the items that the other two restaurants that are famous for the very same dishes and prices are quite similar. To start with, we had the Kajang famous Hot Soup that comes with chicken and pork. Taste wise, it was very similar to their competitors and I found it to be pretty good. Balanced flavours and surely one to make you perspire. My rating for this shall be 8/10. Similarly, their Rice Wine Chicken was also good. Made the very same way, it tasted almost identical to the other places that sell the same. Again, 8/10 shall be my rating for this dish.

Pork Spring Roll @ RM 11.00
This Pork Spring Roll is another speciality that is native to Kajang and the preparation here once again was very similar. Crispy skin and juicy fillings. You don't even need the dip sauce as it was that good. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

The Bill
Just like the other restaurants in Kajang that are famous for their Hot Soup, this place too offers the very same at reasonable prices. Taste wise, they were identical to their competitors and we absolutely loved it. For those of you who find Kajang to be little far, you could alternatively visit this restaurant that is located in Semenyih. Good food and reasonable prices.

Broga Coconut Shake @ Broga, Selangor

Broga is a small town that is located off Semenyih, Selangor and it also happens to be the border town into Negeri Sembilan. That being said, half if this town sits on Selangor and another half sits on Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan. Though this is one of those small towns, this place becomes buzzing with outsiders over the weekends and long holidays, even to the extent of having lots of visitors from Singapore for it's Chinese seafood. In a town with just a few thousand population, you would be surprised to learn that there are more than 30 Chinese Seafood restaurants here. There's one dish that makes this town very famous and that's their Grilled Fish but the great thing is that each restaurant has their own signature style of preparation and the food is very cheap. We shall get to this more when I post my next entry on Broga and for now let me speak of another stall that is very famous here and a must try when you're in Broga.

Broga Coconut Shake Stall

A Simple But Comfortable Set Up
The moment you enter into Broga town, you would be able to see this humble stall on your left, not too far from the main entrance. Despite being just a humble stall, it has become almost mandatory for most visitors who come to Broga to do a pit stop here. Their main top sellers are their Coconut Shake and Pineapple Shake. This place is run by a young Chinese couple who are very friendly with customers. They are open Tusdays to Sundays, from 11 am till 6 pm.

Coconut Shake @ RM 5.00

Pineapple Shake @ RM 5.00
Coconut Shake and Pineapple Shake are the signature drinks here and a must try when you're in Broga. Priced at just RM 5.00 , they are made from real fruits and is free from preservatives. The major difference between this one and the famous Klebang Coconut Shake is that they do not blend the drink with ice cream. Instead, it's topped with ice cream and that gives it a totally different taste. Very authentic flavours and it's so refreshing. I would rate this at 9/10. A must try drink when you visit Broga.

Address: Jalan Besar, 43500 Broga, Selangor, Malaysia.

Opening Hours: 1100 - 1800 Daily (Closed On Mondays)
