Restoran Puchong Yong Tau Fu @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

This afternoon, we were in the mood for some Yong Tau Fu and when I looked up in the internet for some good recommendations, this Restoran Puchong Yong Tau Fu came up. Since it is not too far from where we were, we decided to drop by for lunch.

The Restaurant in Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan
This restaurant is located along Jalan PSK 2 which is in Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan. And even when you're driving on the main road, you would be able to sight them. The restaurant is huge as they occupy three shop lots and that is a good indicator that their business must be good True enough, when we arrived, the place was almost running at full capacity.

Besides Yong Tau Fu, they have a variety of other dishes that they offer which includes Steamed Fish. The prices are not really cheap and are slightly more than other Yong Tau Fu restaurants. Nevertheless, if it is good, then we surely have no reason to complain. After having gone through their menu, we registered our orders in the Order Chit and passed it over to the lady boss.

Sauces

Herbal Tea
One thing that I like about this restaurant is the space factor. Since they occupy three shop lots, the tables are neatly spaced out and it is not really congested like some restaurants. Moreover, all that you may need in terms of cutlery and sauces are neatly placed on all tables. In a matter of minutes, our drinks were served. I ordered a glass of Iced Herbal Tea and it was good. Not too sweet and pleasant. My rating for this drink shall be 8/10.

Okra Stir Fried With Sambal Belacan

Chee Cheong Fun

Paper Wrapped Chicken
We ordered a small portion of Okra stir fried with Sambal Belacan and we were surprised to see the huge portion being served. I double confirmed with the waiter if that was the small one and they said yes. Certainly looked much bigger than the photograph in the menu. So, if you're going in a very small group, please do take note of this. Taste wise, I would say that it was just okay. There should have been more Sambal Belacan and the lack of it made it taste quite bland. My rating for this dish shall be 6/10. Their Chee Cheong Fun was nice. It came with the sweet sauce and you could add as much chilli that you prefer. This I would give it 7/10. Their Paper Wrapped Chicken was above average. Not to say that it was bad, but my mind is constantly comparing this to the one that we had in Puchong. Huge drumstick but taste wise, it could have been better. My rating for this shall be 7/10.

Steamed Egg

Yong Tau Fu in Soup

Fried Assorted Yong Tau Fu
The Steamed Eggs were very good. The texture was just perfect and it had just the right amount of sauces. 9/10 shall be my rating for this dish. We choose a number of Yong Tu Fu items that we added to the soup and they were all good. I would rate them at 8/10. Their fried items however could have been better. I didn't quite like it as it was soaked in oil. My rating for this shall be 6/10.

We totally enjoyed their Yong Tau Fu which came in clear soup. They were all good and so was their Steamed Eggs. The fried items however could have been better and the same goes for their Paper Wrapped Chicken. In summary, decent food but slightly pricey.

Restoran Good Taste Spicy Soup @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Restaurant Good Taste Spicy Soup is a famous Hakka Restaurant that had commenced business sometime late last year in Sri Kembangan. I just love Hakka food and it has been while since I last had some good Hakka food. When I heard about this restaurant from a friend, I had to make a trip here to satisfy my cravings.

The Restaurant In Pusat Perniagaan Olive Hill

The Restaurant Located On The First Floor
This restaurant is located in Pusat Perniagaan Olive Hill which is close to Taman Bukit Serdang and they are located on the First Floor, right above Proton Edar. Parking is not too difficult here in the evenings but I am not too sure how it is during the day. We were at the restaurant at around 8 pm and they were running full house. The restaurant itself is not too large, perhaps with approximately 15 tables and we had to wait for 15 minutes before being allocated a table. I do see a lot of customers that make prior reservations and I believe that that is the best practice for this restaurant. They seem to be very popular and I was told that it is the same during lunch hours.

Their menu is quite straightforward and it is good that they have photographs of the dishes as well. Being specialty Hakka dishes, the variety isn't as great as a day to day Chinese restaurant. Nevertheless, this is what we are here for right. Prices seemed reasonable to me as well but again, I would have to reaffirm this once I see the actual portions. A good thing about this place is the cleanliness and the speed at which the staffs attend to you. Both were really good.

Chrysanthemum Tea @ RM 7.90

Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs @ RM 25.00
I loved the lovely looking pot that was used to serve the tea and it was served with class. The tea was good, high grade and had some very lovely flavours. My rating for this shall be 9/10. Their Sweet & Sour Pork is a top seller here and yes, they use Pork Ribs instead of the usual fatty meat. The base sauce was so good and they were generous with the add on's. Even the meat was so tender. 10/10 would be my rating for this dish.

Claypot Pork Belly with Salt Fish @ RM 18.00

Ladies Finger with Pickled Vegetables @ RM 12.00
The next dish that we tried would be their Claypot Pork Belly with Salt Fish. Again, this was another excellent preparation that won our hearts. The Pork Belly had been very thinly sliced and the mix of meat and fat was just perfect. The amount of Salt Fish used was just right as well. 9/10 would be my rating for this dish. The next one that we tried was something very unique. Steamed Ladies Finger are topped with some pickled vegetables and you're supposed to stir the whole preparation to give it a bundled taste. And yes, it was good. My rating for this too shall be 9/10.

Hakka Spicy Soup @ RM 16.00

Hakka Tau Fu Pok @ RM 13.00
Their Hakka Spicy Soup was another excellent one and perhaps that best that I have tasted till date at a restaurant. The mix of ingredients were fantastic and if you do not consume any specific part, please do let them know before hand. The spiciness was quite potent and the overall flavours were excellent. 10/10 would be my rating for this. Their Hakka Tau Fu Pok was good but I have tasted better ones. This, I would give it a 7/10.

Generally, we were very happy with the food and the prices were truly worth it. This is definitely one good place to visit if you're looking for good Hakka Food. Highly recommended and their Hakka Hot Soup is a must try.

Kedai Makanan Wing Heong @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Kedai Makanan Wing Heong is one of those Chinese neighbourhood restaurants that is famous for their Roasted Duck. This restaurant is located along Jalan College, Seri Kembangan.

The Restaurant Located Along Jalan College

It's Always Crowded

Water Chestnut Sugar Cane
Despite being a very humble set up, this restaurants draws customers from afar. The best time to come here would be at 11 am when most if not all the food items are ready. Once you pass 1 pm, only a selective items would be available and even then the place is crowded. Having travelled quite a distance, we only managed to reach here at about 1.15 pm and by then, a number of meat items had already been sold out. We tried their Sugar Cane drink and it was good. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

Butter Rice

Chili
Do go for their Butter Rice as it is quite tasty. They were very generous with the ingredients and that made the rice so delicious even when eaten on t's own. My rating for the rice shall be 8/10. Their Chili was also good though I may have tasted better ones. Nevertheless, it was medium spicy and I shall rate this at 8/10.

Roast Chicken

Bean Sprouts
Their Roast Chicken was nice and so was their Bean Sprouts. Perhaps, it was better than most Chicken Rice Stalls but it wasn't great enough to be near the best. The Roast Chicken was sufficiently moist and the meat was tender. However, the juices could have been better. My rating for the Roast Chicken shall be 8/10 and the Bean Sprouts 7/10.

Steamed Chicken

Roast Duck
Their Steamed Chicken was again good but not great. Pretty average stuff I would say and my rating for this shall be 7/10. Their Roast Duck however was truly excellent. Right from the skin to the meat, it was near perfect and my rating for this shall be 9/10. This was truly something that was extra ordinarily good.

If you're one that enjoys a good plate of Roast Duck, then you have got to try this place in Seri Kembangan. They have a variety of meat that they offer but their Roast Duck is the top seller and it's really good. Do come early as they sell out rather quickly and parking too becomes a challenge as  it gets close to lunch hours.

Ais Cendol Sedap @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

I was told that there is this Cendol stall in Seri Kembangan that does serve some good Cendol and that too at reasonable prices. Since we were in Seri Kembangan this afternoon, we decided to drop by for a quick desert.

The Stall Along Jalan Perusahaan 1, Taman Jinma

Reasonable Prices
Finding this stall is quite easy. Just look up for Jalan Perusahaan 1, Taman Jinma and it would bring you right here. This stall is is more than a push cart with proper seating spaces that are covered and it would be almost impossible to miss them. They have just five varieties of Cendol and we decided to go for the Cendol Biasa which was priced at RM 2.50 per bowl.

Cendol Biasa @ RM 2.50 per bowl

All Mixed Up
The good thing here is that they don't charge you extra for corn, beans etc. as all this is packaged under their Cendol Biasa which is reasonably priced at RM 2.50 . The portions were good and it the flavours were excellent too. If you happen to be in Seri Kembangan, I would recommend visiting this Cendol stall.

You Fishball Noodles @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

You Fishball Noodles is a noodle house that is located in Kampung Baru Seri Kembangan and their specialty here is the Ikan Parang Fish Balls which is handmade. They are very famous with the locals and sometime this year, they had been highlighted by The Star and that was how they came to be known to the rest who are living outside of Seri Kembangan.

The Restaurant Located Along Jalan Aman SK 13/15A

Food Preparation Area

The Article In The Star
Finding them was quite easy with Waze and it brought us directly to their doorstep. However, if you're coming during the weekdays, parking can at times be a challenge since the entire row of shops is filled with eateries. They have a small open air dining area and that is also where the food is being prepared. My recommendation would be to sit in the indoor air-conditioned dining space as it can be very hot outside, especially with all that cooking and boiling been done. The dining space is very clean and they were literally packed with customers.

Barley & Chrysanthemum Tea

Iced Coffee & Herbal Tea
From my observation, they are specialist in managing crowd. It was clearly evident from the way the staffs moved around taking orders and attending to customers needs. I guess they must be this crowded on a daily basis. We ordered four different drinks and they were all very good. My rating for their drinks shall be 9/10. Pure and authentic taste.

Dry Soy Sauce Noodles

Fish Balls, Fish Cake in Clear Soup
We tried their Dried Soy Sauce Noodles which had a mix of Mee and Mee Hoon and it was good. Very generous with the sauces and we enjoyed the dish. This dish also came with a bowl of clear soup which had some Fish Balls and Fish Cake. Their Ikan Parang Fish Balls were extremely good. Very fresh, definitely no preservatives and it was so tasty. Even their Fish Cake was equally good. My rating for the noodles shall be 8/10 and 9/10 for their Fish Balls & Fish Cake.

Mee Hoon Soup

Variety Of Chillies
Their Mee Hoon Soup was another excellent preparation. The soup itself was so good and the add on's were just excellent. My rating for this dish shall be 9/10. The have a variety of chilli paste to choose from as well. Do note that they were quite spicy and please add them sparingly. 10/10 for their Chilli Paste.

Fried Fish Cake

Dumplings with Minced Pork

Fried Fuchok
Besides the mains, we also went for some side dishes. To start with, we tried their Fried Fish Cake and just like the fish balls, this too was awesome. Similarly, their Fried Fuchok and Dumplings with Minced Pork were simply heavenly. My rating for all three shall be 9/10.

You Fishball Noodles is a noodle house in Seri Kembangan that is famous for their Ikan Parang Fish Balls. We also tried a number of noodle dishes and they were all good. Their Fish Balls, Fried Fuchok, Fish Cake and Dumplings were just heavenly. Fresh, homemade stuff and no preservatives added. A restaurant that I would highly recommend.
