Kafe Le Cheval Blanc Coffee & Bakery @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

Kafe Le Cheval Blanc is a relatively new French bakery that is located in Centrus Mall, Cyberjaya. In fact, it is the very first retail outlet to be open here. For those who are not sure as to where Centrus Mall is, it is right behind D Pulze Mall facing CBD 2.

The Cafe Located In Centrus Mall

Iced Caramel Machiato @ RM 12.80
I visited them on their second day of opening but due to work commitments, I have not been able to blog about them much earlier. Anyway, that's not too far ago and is somewhat approximately about a month back. The entire set up was very impressive and they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. A variety of coffee and tea were available and I was recommended to try their Iced Caramel Machiato which was priced at RM 12.80 . This is a self service bakery. So, you would need to pick up your choice of bread and come up to the counter, place your orders for the drinks and pay for them. For the concept, I felt that this system was quite apt. As for the Iced Caramel Machiato, I felt that it was perfectly fixed and the balance of ice as opposed to the drink was just right. My rating for this drink shall be 9/10.

Mini Pizza @ RM 3.50

Sweet Cheese Roll @ RM 3.50
Since it was only their second day of opening, there was not much in terms of variety. I totally understand this. Most people are still not aware of their existence and why bake so much and waste. The quantity that they had was just nice for the crowd that they were getting. I am sure as more people are aware of this cafe, the variety would be increased. I went for two different buns, Mini Pizza and Sweet Cheese Roll and both were reasonably priced at RM 3.50 . Both buns were good. They were soft, fluffy and taste wise too, both were amazing. Again, for both the buns that I had tasted, my rating shall be 8/10.

Bill
For good buns and coffee in Cyberjaya, I would recommend Kafe Le Cheval Blanc that is located in Centrus Mall, CBD 3. This is the first outlet to open in Centrus Mall and I am very happy with the quality of food and service levels. Wonderful ambiance as well. Good for meetings as well as casual conversations. A highly recommended French Bakery!

Tedboy Express @ Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

For those living around Bangsar and Kerinchi, you would have been familiar with Tedboy Express. Tedboy Express is a bakery that is located around Bangsar and Bangsar South area. In fact, if I am not mistaken, they have two outlets inside of Bangsar South alone.

Tedboy Express in Wisma Averis, Bangsar South

Waiting For Our Orders
It has been a while since I last visited them and that was at their other outlet in Bangsar South. I happened to be at Wisma Averis this afternoon and I was surprised to see that they had another much larger outlet here. As it usually is with all their outlets, this too is very much a self service bakery cum restaurant. Besides the usual buns and sandwiches, I was surprised to find that this outlet does also offer some local dishes as well. Not sure if this was something that was only available here or a newly introduced cuisine across all their outlets.

Iced Honey Lemon @ RM 10.00

Iced Lemon Tea @ RM 10.00
Their drinks have always been impressive and I am very glad that they have been maintaining the quality. Both drinks that we had ordered were absolutely perfect. They were so refreshing and it wouldn't be wrong for me to say that these drinks were amazingly good. My rating for these shall be 10/10.

Ayam Percik Set with Acar @ RM 15.00

Chicken Pepperoni Pizza @ RM 15.90
Their Ayam Percik Set was decent. I find the portions to be good and for such a set up, their pricing was reasonable too. Taste wise, I would rate this dish at 7/10. Their Chicken Pepperoni Pizza was good. Freshly made to order and they were pretty generous with the ingredients. Even their cheese was of a good quality. My rating for this shall be 8/10.

Sausage Cheese Danish @ RM 4.80

Cream Cheese Danish @ RM 3.80

Ham & Corn @ RM 2.50

Creamy Chicken Quiche @ RM 3.50
We took a few of their buns and sampled among ourselves. As expected, they were all good and the prices were justified. If I were to rate these, my average rating for their buns shall be 8/10.

For some good coffee, buns and sandwiches around Bangsar and Kerinchi area, I would recommend Tedboy Express. They do have an excellent variety of buns and they are amazingly good. Reasonable prices as well. Besides these, they also serve some local dishes and those too were good.

Kedai Roti Happy Happy Bread Bakery @ Kajang, Selangor

Happy Happy Bread Bakery is one of the most famous Chinese bakeries in Kajang. They have a number of outlets in Kajang and Cheras and the top seller here is their Half Baked Cheese Tarts. Those are baked twice a day and during those hours, don't be surprised if you find a queue that is as long as 100 meters.

The Bakery Located In Taman Berjaya, Kajang

Assorted Buns
I was here at about 4 pm and by then, their Half Baked Cheese Tarts were already sold out. Their buns are great as well and so I decided to pick up some of those for dinner. The ones that I had selected were Butter Bun, Pork Ham Bun. Lunchean Meat Bun and Smoked Pork Meat Bun. These are my favourites and hence I went for them. In terms of choices, they have so much more to offer.

Butter Bun

Luncheon Meat Bun
Both of these buns were fantastic. Their Butter Bun comes with so much butter and sugar and it's overall texture is so creamy and tasty. Their Luncheon Meat Bun is pretty good too. Comes with a large cut of meat and the overall texture is so soft and fluffy. My rating for both shall be 9/10.

Smoked Meat Bun

Ham Bun
Their Smoked Meat Bun was just awesome. The quality of the smoked meat clearly shows and again together with the bun, it was such a delight. Similarly their Ham Bun was again excellent. Once again, I shall give these 9/10.

If you happen to be in Sungai Chua area, I would highly recommend this Kedai Roti Happy Happy Bread Bakery. Not only is their Half Baked Cheese Tarts awesome, their buns too are simply out of this world. They are so soft, made using quality ingredients and you get a variety that is not commonly found. A must visit place for bun lovers.

Pablo Mini: The Cheese Tart @ Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan

Pablo, the world famous Cheese Tart company had recently opened it's doors in Malaysia and their second outlet is in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. I have always wanted to try this but for the last few months, each time I try to get something from this outlet, there's a mile long queue and I am not one who has such patience to queue for hours. Today, surprisingly their outlet in IOI City Mall did not have the usual crowd and that was an opportunity that I would not miss.

The Outlet on the Lower Ground Floor

This Is An Awesome Deal

Variety of Cheese Tarts

Variety Of Cheese Tarts
This outlet in IOI City Mall is located on the Lower Ground Floor. Pablo carries three varieties of Cheese Tarts, one standard small one and two large ones. Today, the most expensive version was on a 50% discount and I did not want to miss that opportunity.

Hygienically Packed

Comes With Ice Packs
The quality of the packaging was simply mind blowing. Not only was it packed in a sealed box, they had also added some ice packs to keep the Cheese Tart cold. Despite having travelled all the way from Putrajaya to Tanjung Malim, it was still very cold.

Cheese Tart @ RM 39.90 (Normal Price RM 79.90)

Delicious To The Last Bite
This Cheese Tart was definitely one that was made with the best of ingredients. Each bite was heavenly and it was totally worth the price paid. If you're looking for an excellent Cheese Tart that would be a taste to remember, this would be it.

HOMI Chicken Curry Puff @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

HOMI Chicken Curry Puff is one of those Curry Puff outlets that I frequent. I have been having this Curry Puff for at least the past 15 years now. Being in the mood for it this evening, we drove out to their main outlet which is a stall that is located in Restoran Sun Hin Loong in SS2, Petaling Jaya.

The Restaurant In SS2, Petaling Jaya

The Curry Puff Stall

Freshly Made Puffs
Being his dad's recipe, the brothers have made this business into a very successful venture. Today, they also have another outlet located on the Lower Ground Floor of Mid Valley Megamall.  Due to that Megamall outlet, as it is a requirement there, they have acquired the Halal status though they do not display it in their SS2 outlet as the main customers here are Chinese. Nevertheless, it is all made in a single place and all staffs are Muslims. This stall operates from 7.30 am until 5.30 pm daily. From what I can remember in 2008, the price then was RM 1.20 each but today, it is RM 2.50 each at this particular outlet. In Mid Valley Megamall, it is priced at RM 2.90 each. At this outlet, he only sells the Chicken Curry Puffs but at the Megamall outlet, you also get Sardine Puffs and Mildly Spicy Chicken Pie.

Chicken Curry Puff @ RM 2.50

Delicious Curried Potato Filling
The Chicken Curry Puffs were huge and the taste has been consistent over the years. The ingredients are chicken, mushroom, green pea, carrot, potato and onions cooked in thick curry. My rating for these Curry Puffs would be 9/10 . It's great to see that HOMI has now also expanded into the shopping mall scene and hope that there would be more outlets opening in other malls as well. One thing that I would like to congratulate him is that despite his expansion, the quality and taste of the Curry Puffs have been consistent over the years and that is a great satisfaction to his loyal supporters like me.

Donutes Coffee & Cake Baking @ Puchong, Selangor

Donutes Coffee & Cake Baking is an excellent cafe cum bakery that is located in a number of locations in the Klang Valley. I have heard a lot about this place but never really got an opportunity to visit them until this evening.

This Outlet In Bandar Puchong Jaya

Amazing Decor
This outlet that I had visited is the one that is located along Jalan Kerani 6, Bandar Puchong Jaya. Being a cafe that is open 24 Hours a day, they have thought it all out and the place was managed with utmost efficiency. There was a huge bakery section that was being consistently topped up. Bakers would literally stand in this section and observe what get's sold out and immediately, they would top it up with freshly baked stuffs. Similarly, there was another section with a variety of cakes and then another section where coffee was being made. The entire set up was perfect for dates as well as families. Despite being mildly lit, there were some sections with table lamps and I could see students sitting there and doing their homework while their parents were chatting over a coffee. Totally amazing concept and I was mesmerised by the entire set up.

Classic Donutes Coffee @ RM 10.00

Cappuccino @ RM 11.00
As for the drinks, you have to place the orders at the cashier, pay for them and then a number is issued to you. Then you would need to wait for your number to be called and then you can head to the coffee section which is facing outside the cafe and collect your drinks. I was here for about two hours and within that short period, the ticket numbers were literally running by the hundreds. Coming back to our coffee, we had tried their Signature Milk Coffee and their Cappuccino and both were excellent. They didn't come in large mugs like some of the cafe's but it was just nice. As for their coffee, I would rate them both at 9/10.

Pure Cheese Cake @ RM 8.50

Milky Tiramisu @ RM 8.50
They had a good variety of cakes and they were reasonably priced. The cuts were huge as well. We tried their Pure Cheese Cake and Milky Tiramisu Cake. Both were heavenly! My rating for these would be 9/10 for the Pure Cheese Cake and 10/10 for the Milky  Tiramisu Cake. Excellent stuffs!

Bill
Being one of those bakery / cafe's that is open 24 hours daily, Donutes Coffee & Cake Bakery is definitely doing one amazing job and it clearly shows looking at the crowd that is there round the clock. Amazing cakes & pastries, excellent coffee, reasonable prices and a wonderful set up that just let's you wind down after a long day. A lovely place that I would look forward to visiting again.

East Cafe @ Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

This morning, I had to visit Sime Darby Convention Centre for some work related matters and since I was rather early, I was looking for a place to have breakfast. There were a number of premium restaurants inside this convention centre but I wanted some place simple that offered simple meals. That was when I came across East Cafe which is a fusion bakery that sells a handful of main entrees as well.

East Cafe Located On The Ground Floor

Good Selection Of Pastries & Puffs

Our Bill For The Day
Despite being a simple bakery cum coffee house, the place was beautifully designed with some very cosy seating. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas were available. East Cafe is located on the Ground Floor, quite close to the main entrance. The concept is quite simple. They had a range of puffs and pastries and some Nasi Lemak since it was rather early. So we decided to try both and paid for them first before heading to one of the tables, very similar to Starbucks and other famous coffee chains.

Nescafe Tarik
As you can see from the attached bill, prices are typical convention centre prices but the quality that you get from the food, drinks and environment was totally worth it. In fact, for all that we got, I would say that it was rather worth it. The Nescafe was perfectly fixed and it wasn't overly sweet. My rating for this shall be 8/10.

Chicken Curry Puff

You Actually Get Real Chicken In It
This Curry Chicken Puff was one of the best puffs that I have come across. Unlike the rest that only comes with plain curry, this was actually filled with minced chicken and it totally filled the puffs. The size of the puff was pretty large as well and good to fill a moderate eater. The crispy layers of the puff were excellent and so was the curry fillings. 10/10 is what I shall be giving for this. Highly recommended!

Nasi Lemak Bungkus

Super Delicious Sambal
I also went for a Nasi Lemak Bungkus and this bungkus was quite big in that sense. Way bigger than the standard roadside stalls. It came with generous amount of sambal, anchovies, peanuts and a hard boiled egg. Taste wise, it was so good so much so I was contemplating if I should go for another one. An excellent Nasi Lemak and I would highly recommend this. 9/10 is what I shall be rating this.

Despite having had to pay Convention Centre prices, I would say that it was totally worth it. The environment was 5 Star and so was the food. The Nasi Lemak that we had was excellent and they were generous with the portions. Even the 'bungkus' itself was larger than usual. And their Curry Chicken Puffs actually came filled with minced chicken cooked in delicious curry. When I say filled, it was literally stuffed to the maximum. The pastry was perfect too. This is probably the best cafe that I have come across in convention centres in Malaysia.

RT Pastry House @ Puchong, Selangor

Instead of the usual eateries, today I shall be sharing about this bakery that I discovered in Bandar Puchong Jaya that specialises in a variety of Cheese Cakes. The range that they cover has everything from Japanese Cheese Cakes to European Cheese Cakes. Originally intended to be a fusion between Japanese and Taiwanese cakes, this bakery has made a name for itself and now has a number of branches across the Klang Valley.

RT Pastry House in IOI Boulevard, Puchong
This bakery is located inside IOI Boulevard and is facing Jalan Kenari 5. Parking can be horrendous at times but then, if you're looking for a quick pick up, then that should not be a problem. Their business hours are from 8.30 am till 9 pm daily.

The variety that they have are very impressive and most of them are difficult to find at other bakeries. These Japanese and European Cheese Cakes that they sell are very reasonably priced too.

Europe Cheese Cake @ RM 16.95

Hokkaido Vanilla @ RM 9.00 (A Box Of 3)
The European Cheese Cake was extremely good and it was truly worth the price paid. Similarly, the Hokkaido Vanilla was equally good. My rating for this shall be 9/10 for both.

Bill For The Day
RT Pastry House is a fusion of Japanese and Taiwanese concept bakery shop. Their cakes are extremely good and very reasonably priced. Business has been very good due to the quality of their cakes and now they have twelve outlets across the Klang Valley. What impressed me is the variety of Cheese Cakes that they carry. If you're looking for a place that specialises in Cheese Cakes, this is it. Very tasty and they are freshly made daily.
