Zok Noodle House @ Puchong, Selangor

Zok Noodle House is a very famous noodle place in Puchong. They have a number of outlets in the Klang Valley and this one in Bandar Puchong Jaya is their very first outlet to open. This outlet is a little more special as you get the full range of dishes including Dim Sum whereas the other outlets carry limited range of dishes and they do not do Dim Sum. Since we wanted to try their Dim Sum's as well which apparently is quite famous, we made it a point to visit this outlet. The only problem here would be parking. If you can manage that, then this would be the outlet that I would recommend visiting.

The Outlet Along Jalan Kenari 4

Various Newspaper Write Ups
The decoration is rather simple. They occupy two shop lots, one which is air-conditioned and the other which is ventilated by ceiling fans. Even at the entrance, lot's of newspaper write up's have been put up on the glass panel. This very much shows the authenticity of the food here.

The Menu

Some Of Their Signature Dishes

Cutlery & Sauces

Chinese Tea @ RM 0.80

Soya Bean @ RM 2.80
Though both shop lots are not too large in size, they were well organised. Right from the cutlery to order management, it was very well executed. In terms of food, right from their Signature dishes to a whole range of other offerings, they were all reasonably priced. Not to say very cheap, but for a restaurant of this quality, they were reasonable. As far as drinks were concerned, I went for a glass of Chinese Tea which was priced at RM 0.80 and my brother went for a glass of home made Soya Bean Drink which was priced at RM 2.80 . The Soya Bean was good and it wasn't sweetened. If you want your's to be sweetened, you'd have to inform them before hand. As for this drink, I shall give it 8/10.

Seven Flavours Fried Tofu @ RM 4.50

Crispy On The Outside And Delicately Soft On The Inside
Seven Flavours Fried Tofu was an impressive dish. I was amused at the skill required to prepare this delicate dish. The outer layer was crisp while the inside was as soft as silk. Amazing how they could achieve this. And the mix of flavours were awesome. I would give this dish 9/10.

Fresh Prawn Wonton Noodles @ RM 8.90
This was such a unique dish so much so it would require an acquired taste to appreciate it. For me, the Shrimp Wonton's were just heavenly. They were so fresh and wonderfully prepared. Each bite was bliss. The handmade noodles were another treat. They were so soft and springy. The clear soup was great too. In short, a wonderful dish it was. Again, this too deserves 9/10.

Fuzhou Fish Balls, Squid Balls & Pork Balls @ RM 8.90

This dish was a combination of 2 Fuzhou Fish Balls, 2 Squid Balls and 2 Pork Balls and it was priced at RM 8.90 per bowl. Each and everyone of those were heavenly. Each was distinct taste wise and clearly had it's own signature. Another one that I would recommend here and my rating for this shall be 9/10.

Char Siew @ RM 8.00
Both their Char Siew and Siew Yuk are very famous but unfortunately, they had run out of Siew Yuk and we managed to only taste their Char Siew. Perfectly done, lean in the middle and comes with a little fat on the sides. Just wonderful. Char Siew lovers have got to taste this preparation. I would rate this at 9/10 as well. Definitely one of the better Char Siews out there.

XO Sauce Stir Fried Radish Cake @ RM 6.50
This is one of my favourites and I loved the preparation here. Not only were they generous with the ingredients, it was also wonderfully prepared. The flavours were balanced and it wasn't too salty. I would rate this at 8/10.

Glutinous Rice with Chicken @ RM 5.50
Their Loh Mai Kai was another one that won our hearts. It came with generous amount of chicken, some minced beans and glutinous rice. And the best part was it was non greasy. Perfect for those who are health conscious as well. 9/10 is what I shall give this preparation.

Supreme Siu Mai With Crab Roe @ RM 5.50
When it comes to Dim Sum, variety isn't great and they only sell a handful of their signature items and this Siu Mai is one of them. Delicately carved and made to perfection, it was one good Siu Mai. My rating for this shall be 8/10.

Signature Golden Custard Buns @ RM 4.90
The Custard Buns were larger than the standard ones that we get and the filling was hot and delicious. Have to very cautious where having this as the custard filling just oozes out easily. Despite being one that got our hands dirty, it was one that we thoroughly enjoyed. I shall definitely rate this at 9/10.

Char Siew Bao @ RM 4.50
Their Char Siew Bao was quite similar to the ones that we get in Ipoh whereby the top is open and not completely concealed. The Bao itself was soft and nice and the filling was excellent. Again another one that I would rate at 9/10.

Our Bill For The Day
We tried a number of dishes and I must say that the food was very good. Whether is was their Dim Sum, Noodles or even the side dishes that we had, they were all perfectly hand crafted and tasted heavenly. If you're looking for a good Noodle House that sells delicious Hong Kong food, this would be a good choice. Prices are reasonable as well and their customer service was excellent.
