Hou Xiang 60s Chee Cheong Fun @ Petaling Jaya, Selangor

I have always been a fan of this restaurant, except that I used to very often go to their outlet in Bandar Sri Damansara. My last visit here has been years now and that's because I n longer live around that area. Having had the craving for some good Chee Cheong Fun, we decided to drop by at their outlet in Taman SEA, Petaling Jaya.

The Petaling Jaya Outlet Located Along Jalan SS 23/15

Food Preparation Counter
Design wise, it looks exactly the same as their Bandar Sri Damansara outlet. The good thing here is that parking is easy in the evenings. I am not sure if it is the same during the day but it was surely very convenient for us.

Iced Coffee @ RM 4.80 and Barley Lemon Cold @ RM 4.95

Taiwanese Sausage @ RM 4.60

Chicken Glutinous Rice @ RM 4.80

Homemade Chilli
The specialty here is of course the variety of Chee Cheong Fun's that they have. It's typically the different versions of the same dish that you get across Malaysia and you are able to taste these different versions under one roof. Besides that, they have an array of other dishes as well ranging from Yong Tau Fu to even a wide variety of deserts. The drinks that we had ordered were decent and I would rate them at 8/10. We tried their Taiwanese Sausage and it was just so so. I guess, it was a little too stiff for me and I would rate this at 6/10. Their Loh Mai Kai however was very good. Came with minimal oil and taste wise, it was excellent. 9/10 shall be my rating for this. Their Homemade Chilli is another thing that you should not miss here. Goes perfectly well with most of the sides.

Ipoh Style Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 4.80

Curry Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 5.60

Teluk Anson Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 6.50

Penang Style Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 4.80
The variety of Chee Cheong Fun's that they have is not limited to the above only. We only ordered these since it's one of our favourites and we doubt that we could have more than these. I would say all the variations were quite authentic and had distinct tastes. They were quite generous with the ingredients as well. On average, my rating for the above shall be 8/10.

If you're looking for a one stop restaurant to try the different variations of Chee Cheong Fun that we have in Malaysia, I would recommend visiting this restaurant. They have two outlets, one in Taman SEA and another in Bandar Sri Damansara. The Chee Cheong Fun's were definitely authentic in terms of taste and very reasonably priced. Lovely ambiance too.
