Green Chillies @ Cyberjaya, Selangor

We have a lot of Indian restaurants in Cyberjaya and most of them are either Tamil Restaurants or North Indian restaurants with an exception to one which is an Andhra Restaurant. To add to that list, we now have a Hyderabadi Restaurant as well that had just started about a month back.

Green Chillies in CBD 2, Cyberjaya

Clean and Air Conditioned

Iced Water On The House
Not many know about the existence of this restaurant since it is located on the quiet side of CBD 2 unlike the rest of the Indian restaurants which are located in Glomac Cyberjaya. This restaurant is open from 8 am to 8 pm, Mondays to Saturdays. This restaurant has a very pleasant set up and is air-conditioned for customers comfort. I had a glass of iced water and even that was on the house and that came as a pleasant surprise to me. Not forgetting the staffs who were very friendly too.

They do have a very impressive menu mainly concentrating on Hyderabadi dishes. Do note that all their staffs including the chefs are Hyderabadis and all spices are imported from Hyderabad as well. That gives an assurance of very authentic taste.

Chicken Dum Briyani @ RM 12.00
Their Chicken Dum Briyani is priced at RM 12.00 and comes exactly how you would get in in Hyderabad with no fancy Malaysian additions. Portions were definitely huge for the price.

Raita

Chicken Curry
Their Raita was very unique. It was very light and had a lot of diced bird eye chilli and chopped onions. Taste wise, very authentic taste and totally different to those that you get here. My rating for this shall be 9/10. Their Chicken Curry was absolutely heavenly. It was so thick and the spices reminded me of the wonderful meals that I have had in India. Totally mind blowing stuff and I would rate this at 10/10.

Briyani Comes With An Egg and Chicken

Delicious Taste
Their Briyani itself had a wonderful aroma to it and it was so delicious. Not forgetting the chicken which was so soft and tender. This is definitely thee best Hyderabadi Dum Briyani that I have tasted in Malaysia. 10/10 is what I shall rate this.

Chicken Thali Meals @ RM 9.00
This Chicken Thali Meals is priced at RM 9.00 and comes with rice, three vegetables, Sambar and Rasam. They do not restrict you on the volume and you are free to take as much as you want, as long as you do not waste it.

Vegetable Pakkora

Their Vegetable Pakkora was very nice. I loved the crisp and it was freshly prepared and not greasy at all. My rating for this shall be 9/10.

The Potato dish was good as well and it was very authentically prepared. The same goes to the Keerai. Loved the flavours and I would rate both at 8/10.

Chicken Curry
This I found to be slightly on the oily side but taste wise, it was decent. Reasonably amounts of chicken chunks and they were meaty. 7/10 is what I shall give for this.

Masala Tea @ RM 2.50
It was funny to see the Masala Tea which came half full just like those that you would get in India. Taste wise, I absolutely loved it. I would definitely give this 9/10.

For authentic Hyderabadi food, I would recommend Green Chillies which is located in Cyberjaya. A restaurant that had recently started and they do serve some amazing Briyani's. In fact, it won't be wrong to say that this was the best Hyderabadi Briyani that I have tasted in Malaysia. Not only are their cooks from Hyderabad, even their spices are imported from there. Besides Briyani, they do have a range of other dishes to try as well.

Amma's Signatures Bamboo Briyani @ Batang Kali, Selangor

Having heard about this place in Batang Kali that had started selling Bamboo Briyani, we decided to drop by last weekend. Bamboo Briyani is the in thing now that is making waves in the Klang Valley and I had checked their Facebook page and it seems like there's lots of positive reviews. In fact, positive reviews was all that I could find and not a single negative review.

The Restaurant Next To King's Confectionery

The Owner
Initially it was quite a challenge to find this place as I was looking for a restaurant. Only when I called them, I realised that it's just a small space in one of the rows of shops. To get here, Google Bandar Baru Ligamas Batang Kali and use Google Maps to get you there. Once you're at the junction, turn right into this housing estate and you would see a Shell Petrol Station on your left. Shortly ahead, there is another traffic light. Keep going straight and look on your left side for King's Bakery. These guys are located right beside them and just a half shop. What I understand is that their main business is catering and they have been doing that for over a decade now. Only recently, about a fortnight to be precise, have they started doing this Bamboo Briyani and have opened up the outer office area as a small eatery. Lots of orders are received through phone calls and mostly they deliver right from Tanjung Malim up to Kuala Lumpur for a charge depending on the location. If you want to dine in, best to call them a day in advance and book your table. Mention the time of arrival, the type of Briyani that you want and number of pax. When I was here, there was a table that was booked by a Singaporean couple and another by someone from Penang. That is the kind of popularity that these guys have gotten in the last few days. In terms if the variety of Bamboo Briyani's that they have, they are Chicken Briyani, Fish Briyani, Mutton Briyani, Crab Briyani, Prawn Briyani and also Vegetarian Briyanis. I only called in earlier in the morning, around 10 am and they were fully booked and only had Chicken Briyani left. So, I went for that and the number of Briyani's that they had was for exactly three pax which was what I needed.

Onion Raita
Service is very personal here and you feel like you're dining in a friend's house. There's no such thing as portions for Raita and the sides. They would serve you in a large container and you can take how much you want. These containers are left on your table till you finish your meal. Even if you want extra rice, that can be arranged as well. Do note that they do not serve drinks and only have bottled waters. Coming to their Onion Raita, it was good and tasted very much like home cooked food. If I were to rate this, I would give it 9/10.

Potato Kuttu
Besides the Raita, they also served us some delicious Potato Kuttu and it was amazingly good. The semi mashed potatoes were cooked with lots of spices and it tasted like it was made with passion. 10/10 is what this deserves.

Mutton Perattal
They had some Mutton Perattal left overs and they served it to us at no additional charges. It's really nice of them to treat customers this way. The feeling is so good and this was delicious. Again, I would give this 9/10.

Bamboo Briyani For Three Pax

The Gravy Oozing Out

So Delicious Looking

My Bamboo Chicken Briyani Lunch @ RM 19.90 per person
Since we had ordered for three pax, it came in a large Bamboo and goodness, it looked so good. There's three large chunks of chicken and three hard boiled eggs as well. The Bamboo Briyani came with lots of gravy and it tasted absolutely heavenly. It is served in a large container and you would need to mix them all up and finally enjoy this heavenly meal on Banana Leaves. With all the additional sides, it was a mere RM 19.90 per pax. If you're in search of a good Bamboo Briyani, I would definitely recommend these guys. Amma's Signatures was definitely a class of it's own and I am definitely coming back for more soon. 10/10 is what I shall rate this.

Restoran Asam Batu Laut @ Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

Restoran Asam Batu Laut is located in Batu Laut Fishermen's Village which is just a few minutes away from Tanjung Sepat and Morib. There are so many people that flock here for good seafood that is sold at much cheaper rates than the restaurants in the Klang Valley and you should not be surprised if there was such a tremendous crowd when you visit them.

The Restaurant Located Along The Coastal Road

Such A Huge Car Park and Its Full House

During the weekends and public holidays, please do not be surprised to see such a huge crowd here. I will estimate easily there was around 700 people at this restaurant when we arrived. Yes, and that number is not an exaggeration!

Indoor And Outdoor Seating Areas

Beautiful Views

One can opt to sit inside or outside. Both places are well ventilated so you don't have to worry about feeling hot if you sit outdoors. Personally, I prefer sitting close to the sea as the views are really amazing.

The Menu

Top Sellers

Coco Cola @ RM 2.20
This is a Pork Free restaurant and as such, you do find many Muslim customers here as well. Prices are very reasonable and you would be able to see shortly how vast a difference it is from restaurants Kuala Lumpur. Moreover, being a fishing village, supplies are very fresh. When they are busy, they are really busy. Did you notice that they do not use table cloths but plastic sheets? This is simply because they do not have time to change them. This way, once the customer is done, they just throw it away and another sheet is already beneath it. Similarly, drinks are served in disposable cups solely to cut down on washing time.

Mongolian Prawns @ RM 26.00
It does take a while for the dishes to arrive but that wait time is manageable, somewhere around 20 to 30 minutes maximum. One thing you can be rest assured, their crowd management skills are just perfect. The first dish to arrive was the Mongolian Prawns and this was priced at RM 26.00 . It came with such huge prawns and they were extremely fresh and sweet. The preparation was excellent as well. I would rate this at 9/10.

Marmite Baby Octopus @ RM 16.00
This is the first time that I am trying Baby Octopus and I must confess that I was in love with this dish. The octopus had such a soft texture and the style of preparation was just perfect for this. Fresh, such huge portions and very cheap I would say. 10/10 is what I would rate this dish.

Ikan Merah Steamed Teochew Style @ RM 45.00
A rather huge Ikan Merah steamed the Teochew Style and this was priced at RM 45.00 . Extremely cheap and fresh and it tasted heavenly. Loved the sour broth that came with preserved vegetables. 10/10 is my rating for this.

Salted Egg Mantis Prawns @ RM 15.00
Another heavenly dish that we all enjoyed. It may sound repetitive but I have got to say it. Extremely fresh it was and they were very generous with the salted egg batter. If you enjoy this dish, then you have got to try it here. 10/10 again for this!

Kam Heong Crab @ RM 85.00
The minimum order quantity form crabs is 1 Kg and today the going rate was RM 85.00 . There were three large crabs that came and I would say that it is an excellent deal. The style of cooking was perfect as well and we all enjoyed it very much. 10/10 for this too!

Stopover At Morib To Watch The Sunset
If you're looking for some excellent seafood served fresh and at a discounted rate of 30% to 50% of what you would get in the Klang Valley, then Restoran Asam Batu Laut would be the perfect destination. Located merely an hour away from the city, this rustic town would not only be able to feed you delicious food but it's also a lovely destination for a day trip. Good food, wonderful views and it would surely be a memorable experience.
