Hung Kee Pan Mee @ Kajang, Selangor

As you may have seen from my previous blog posts, there are many home based restaurants in Kajang and Hung Kee Pan Mee is one such place as well. They mainly do noodles and it comes is a number of preparation styles. This restaurant is located in Taman Jelita which is just opposite the Kajang MRT Station.

The Main Preparation Area

Indoor & Outdoor Seating Areas
If you're driving along Jalan Reko, just look left when you are nearing the Kajang MRT Station and you would be able to see this place. Being a residential area, the roads are quite narrow and parking can sometimes be difficult. It would be best to park on the other side near the row of shops and it is just a mere three minutes walk. Business is good here and do be prepared to wait at least 30 to 45 minutes for your orders, especially during peak hours.

Order Chit

List Of All That They Offer

Each table has a plastic cup which contains their ordering chit along with a pencil. It's all clearly labelled there and you would just have to tick your orders and place the quantity. Then, just pass this to any of of those that are working there.

All That You May Need

Iced Barley
Each table comes properly organised with all that you may need from cutlery to chili and sauces. We ordered a glass of Iced Barley and it was promptly delivered in about 10 minutes. As for the drink, I would rate it at 8/10.

Fried Chicken, Fish Balls & Fried Fuchok

Sweet & Spicy Dip Sauce
We did order some add on's and these are prepared in the kitchen inside and therefore, this comes much faster than the noodles itself. We tried their Signature Fried Chicken, some Fried Fish Balls and Fried Fuchok and they were all good. The accompanying dip sauce was lovely too. My rating for these shall be 8/10.

Kon Loh Mee

Fuchok & Fish Ball in Clear Soup
We ordered a plate of Kon Loh Mee and it arrived after a 45 minute wait. In fact, even when placing our orders, we were already informed about the wait time. This plate of noodles came with some Char Siew and in a separate bowl, there were some Fuchok and Fish Balls in Clear Soup. Their Fish Ball & Fuchok in Clear Soup was decent. I would rate them at 7/10. The Kon Loh Mee was also decent and that too deserves a rating of 7/10. Their Char Siew however could have been better and for that, I would give it a 6/10.

Curry Mee

Chili Flakes
Their Curry Mee was truly awesome. I loved the curry itself and the bowl of noodles came with lot's of add on's. This was surely the highlight of this restaurant and my rating for this shall be 9/10.

For a good bowl of Curry Mee in Kajang, I would recommend Hung Kee Pan Mee that is located in Taman Jelita. Their Curry Mee is excellent and comes with lots of add on's. Do be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes during peak hours but the wait is truly worth it. Besides this, their Fried Chicken is also another one that I would recommend.
