Tony Roma's @ Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Having had a milestone achieved to celebrate tonight, a few of us from the office decided to head out for a few beers and light snacks to celebrate the occasion. Initially having gone to Zeus and only to realise that a pub has run out of it's beer stock, we then moved over to Tony Roma's which is attached to the same building.

The Outdoor Bar Setting
As smoker's were in the house including me, we decided to sit along the outdoor bar instead of the indoor restaurant. Well the rainy weather was conducive to this too creating a cool breeze outside. Having sat here, we were immediately attended to by a bartender who enumerated the various kinds of beer that was available for the night. We decided on the beer and he left us with the menu to order the snacks.

The Menu
After going through the menu and contemplating between full meals and snacks, we decided on some snacks instead. This was a pretty brief evening by design as many of us had other family errands to attend to after this and therefore we deliberately kept it short and sweet.

Carlsberg Draught
By the time the beer was served, we had already decided what we wanted to have. The beer too was on promotion of buy 1 free 1. When the waiter served us the beer, we placed our snacks order with him and he seemed glad to assist.

Baguette & Butter Garlic Spread @ RM 18.00
The first snack that we ordered was the above Baguette which came with some good butter infused with Garlic Spread. The loaf was hot and the Butter was well melted. It definitely came with a touch of customer satisfaction as I have seen places where the butter was served frozen. I think this is a good preparation and I would rate this at 8/10 .

Roma's Sampler @ RM 35.90
This is a great dish that gives you an opportunity to try multiple things offered by this restaurant. This sampler comes with Red Hot Buffalo Wings, Potato Skins and Half Onion Loaf matched with Cheese Dressing, Sour Creme and Tony Roma's Original BBQ Sauce. I would say that this dish was pretty good. For three pax like us, it was a pretty decent dish to try. I would rate the Buffalo Wings at 8.5/10, Potato Skins at 9/10 and Onion Loaf at 7/10 . At RM 35.90, this is a good sampler dish that gives you an opening touch to three various dishes. I particularly liked the Buffalo Wings as the sauce used for marination was unique and the Potato Skins was loaded with Cheese.

Chicken Ceaser Flatbread @ RM 25.90
Another interesting dish that was served on a classic wooden platter. This comes with Grilled Chopped Chicken Breast, Italian Cheese, Tomato Pesto Salad, Fresh Sweet Basil and Creamy Ceaser dressing tossed on a crisp flatbread crust and sprinkled with shaved Asiago Cheese. We definitely loved this dish and to me it was more like it being served on Nachos. Nevertheless, this was a great dish and I would rate it at 8/10 . The flatbread was absolutely crispy.

Though this entry was pretty brief in it's entrĂ©es, I still think that it is worth publishing for a number of reasons. There may be many of you who would like to patronise Tony Roma's as just another pub cum bar with good food as opposed to a restaurant. In such cases, I think they scored reasonably well. I would strongly vouch for them as a good family restaurant and a bar as I have been in both shoes. A great restaurant though.
