This place is located on the far end of Dataran Sunway, on the block of shop lots that backs AmBank. It can be quite difficult to find as most of the shops here are deserted but if you get on the right road, then this shop would be clearly visible. The interior of this restaurant is very beautiful and they have spent a lot of money decorating this place. Definitely this place is designed to be a high end restaurant. Even when I was there, there were a number of celebrities dining in. There is a common dining hall along with some partitioned rooms which gives diners private spaces and we occupied one such space. There is also a live band rendering Malay numbers. The staffs were all very professional in their approach and they have been trained well to receive such celebrities and high profile people.

The Menu |
Their menu had an good selection of food and was mostly a mixture of Nyonya and Chinese dishes. This place has also been endorsed by the Jalan Jalan Cari Makan team. Their prices seem steep but for the place and class it offers, I feel that it is reasonable. There is also a a full page on the menu that provides a write up on the Chef and his background.

Hot Lemon Tea @ RM 3.90 |
|
Honey Lime @ RM 3.90 |
|
Coca Cola @ RM 4.90 |
The above were the drinks that we ordered tonight and I find the prices to be decent and the drinks were generally well fixed too.
|
Steamed White Rice @ RM 8.00 |
They serve the white rice in a silver platter as above. It is charged at RM 2.00 per head and since there were the four of us, we were charged RM 8.00 for the rice.
|
Hot Plate Sotong @ RM 19.90 (Regular) |
We ordered the above Hot Plate Squid. There are two sizes and this is the smaller one and it came at RM 19.90 . The squid was cooked in a spicy and sour gravy and there were also some onions and long beans in the dish. Overall the squid was well done, the meat was still tender and soft and tasted well. I would say that this dish was pretty decent although it was not the best that I have tried. I would rate this dish at 7/10 .
|
Choi Poh Tofu @ RM 13.90 (Regular) |
The above Tofu dish was quite unique as I have never found it anywhere else. It was stuffed with sauteed vegetables. The outer layer was crispy and the inside was soft and lovely. This was then served with Soy sauce at the base. All of us enjoyed this dish very much and I must admit that it was very good. I just loved the way how the outer skin was so crispy yet the inside was soft. I would definitely recommend this dish and my rating for this dish would be a perfect 10/10 .

The Bird Curry Fish Head @ RM 49.90 (Regular) |
Though the above dish looks small in the photo, it was a rather huge bowl. This is the smaller size and it comes at RM 49.90 . There is half a fish head inside along with loads of vegetables. We definitely loved this dish as it was rightly spiced, wonderfully done and the aroma was just great. Another great dish here. I would rate this as a perfect 10/10 .
|
Curry Mutton @ RM 19.90 (Regular) |
The Curry Mutton was also another good dish here and it was done just like how an Indian would do it. The dish had a thick gravy which was good, came with loads of potato's and the mutton chunks were just the right size. It was not spicy though as a personal preference, I would have preferred it so but then being rather balanced, it would suit more people out there. Definitely a good dish! I would rate this at a 9/10 .
Overall, this place has a lot to offer. The food is good, the environment is cosy and nice, the people are attentive and friendly. The only setback would be the price which is designed to be on the high side. This would not be an everyday restaurant for us but would definitely be a good place to dine on occasions like family gathering or even family celebrations. What I liked most about this place is the fact that the Chef comes up to you and thanks you for dining there which adds a very personal engagement with customers. In summary, this is definitely a great place. Just as a foot note, they also have another outlet in Publika.
