Maalini Curry House @ Puchong, Selangor

Maalini Curry House is the latest South Indian restaurant to open in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. This is a 24 Hour restaurant and is located along Jalan Puteri 1/5, right opposite Giant Hypermarket. Despite being located right beside the famous Rathaa Curry House, this restaurant too receives fantastic support from the people living around this area.

If you're coming for lunch, do try their Banana Leaf Rice Meal as it is quite good. I will speak more about this shortly. The entire restaurant is air-conditioned and hence smoking is prohibited indoors. There are tables outside the restaurant and those who would want to smoke can freely sit there. Parking can be a problem in this area but after office hours, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a bay.

Vegetarian Meal + 3 Vegetables @ RM 5.00
We were here quite late at night and despite the fact that I had been starving the whole day, I did not want to go for their Banana Leaf Rice Meals. However, I decided to have rice and curries on the plate. The above photograph that you see comes with rice, Venthaya Kulambu and three vegetables and they were very reasonably priced at RM 5.00 .

Venthaya Kulambu
Their Venthaya Kulambu was absolutely fantastic. This is the kind of gravy that I had been craving for. It was very similar to what my late grandmother used to prepare. You have got to try this curry in order to experience the joy. Till date, I have not come across this kind of thick gravy served in any restaurant. So good it was and it deserves nothing less than a 10/10.

Not only were the curries good, even their vegetables were excellent. If one would ask me to compare this place with the Chettinad Mess that is within the same locality, I would definitely say that this was better. I would give all their veggies a 9/10. On another occasion, I also had their non vegetarian meal. We tried their Chicken Perattal, Local Goat Bone Marrow Perattal and Lamb Perattal. All three were awesome as well and they were so reasonably priced. A huge plate that is good for three was priced at RM 8.00 only.

Chapati with 3 Curries @ RM 2.00 each
Their Chapati's are prepared by a Pakistani chap and they were good as well. Again, the winner here was the curries. The Venthaya Kulambu, Paasi Payiru Curry and Dhall tasted really good. And it was because of these curries, my father ended up having three Chapatis instead of his usual limit of one only for dinner. Again, I would give this a 10/10.

Maggi Mee Goreng @ RM 6.00
Without an exception, this too was delicious. Just by looking at the colours you should know how good it was. The spices were fantastic and it tasted very Indian. Another good one to have here. This, I would rate it at 9/10.

In summary, the food here is definitely amazing. Every single dish that we tried were awesome and they were so reasonably priced. If you're around this area, please do give them a try. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and I am fairly certain that you too would enjoy it.
