Pulau Ketam Yong Tau Foo @ The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur

Pulau Ketam Yong Tau Foo is an outlet that is located on the Lower Ground Floor of the Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur. Having started this stall sometime in July 2012, it has gained popularity over the months and is today one of the busiest stalls located on the Lower Ground Floor of the mall. One of the main reason for this is simply the lack of Halal Yong Tau Foo's out there and this stall being Halal, it has been able to tap into a much larger market and thus drawing greater crowd.

Limited Seating Area
The stall is a typical mall set up. Being located inside a mall, it has limited seating area and customers are usually forced to finish their meal quickly as there are more people waiting for tables.

The Variety Offered
They have a huge variety of Yong Tau Foo offered here and they are all made up of Soya, Fish and Chicken only. As the items deplete in stock, fresh ones are prepared at this stall thus ensuring the freshness of the items at all times.

Various Curry to choose from

It is a self service concept
It is a self service concept here at this stall. Just queue up, pick your items and head to the cashier which is located at the end of the row. Then you could choose from having the Yong Tau Foo in plain clear soup or with the sweet and spicy sauce or to have them with noodles. Once again, they have a number of variety of noodles and this could also go with curry if you prefer it over the rest.

My Bowl of Yong Tau Foo in Clear Soup
I chose the above clear soup for me today. Here, for less than five pieces, the Yong Tau Foo is priced at RM 1.50 per piece and when you exceed five pieces, then the price drops to RM 1.30 per piece. Of course, when it is mixed with noodles, then it is a different price altogether.

Chicken Luncheon Meat
Generally, I was quite satisfied with the items that I had chosen in fact I found them to be good for a stall like this. All the items were fresh and none of them had a stale taste to it. Definitely good stuff. I would rate the above at an average of 8.2/10 . The Soup too was good and had a fair amount of seasoning. I would rate the soup at 8/10 .

Cost of My Meal
Overall, I was impressed with the food as I did not expect a stall like this to be able to serve good Yong Tau Foo which was fresh and homemade. Definitely a great place to have Yong Tau Foo if you are at this mall. The food would surely not let you down.

    1. Hi Goh, very sorry to hear about your experience. Well, this is the setback of hiring untrained foreign workers. They truly mess things up. And thanks for sharing your experiences here for others to take note of.
