Restoran Jalal @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

I am sure that everyone from Tanjung Malim would be familiar with Restoran Jalal. Once known as Restoran Ghani which had been serving customers for more than 40 years in Tanjung Malim until the brothers' ended up splitting to start up their own restaurants, now scattered at various locations in Tanjung Malim. Today Restaurant Jalal is located at No. 40A, where once Kassim Restaurant had been for more than 50 years since the 1940's.

Thats Mr. Jalal on the left
The layout is typical to any old school Indian Muslim restaurant. As you can see on the last photograph, that is Mr. Jalal, the owner of this restaurant. This restaurant does not operate 24 hours and it's operation hours are from 6 am to 8 pm. Just like others, they are busy from breakfast to lunch serving all the usual food including Briyani for lunch and come evening, business tends to be a little slow as not many people come to this part of town anymore.

Teh O Limau @ RM 1.50

Teh Tarik @ RM 1.20
Both the drinks were fixed perfectly well and I would rate the Teh O Limau at 9/10 and Teh Tarik at 8.8/10 .

Mr. Jalal Frying The Noodles for Us
I always love the Mee Goreng and Meehoon Goreng from this restaurant. It has the old school flavours and it is best when Mr. Jalal himself prepares it. The best that I have tried still is at the old Kassim Restaurant in Tanjung Malim but sadly, they had ceased business and gone into retirement. Nevertheless, this one is almost as good as that. Both our noodles were take aways and within 15 minutes, the orders were ready.

Mee Goreng @ RM 3.00

Mee Goreng @ RM 3.00
For the price of RM 3.00 , you get an excellent plate of Mee Goreng which is packed with all goodness. The portion is quite huge too and for small eaters, you could share a packet between two people. Perfectly done, I would rate this at 9.5/10 .

Meehoon Goreng @ RM 3.50

Meehoon Goreng @ RM 3.50
Their Meehoon Goreng is slightly more expensive, this must be contributed by the market price of the noodles itself. Do note that unlike other Indian Muslim restaurants, the Mee and Meehoon here do not taste alike although it is prepared almost quite similarly. Both have distinct tastes and are equally good. The Mee Hoon somehow has a more eggy taste to it, despite both being made using the same number of eggs. Once again, this would score a rating of 9.5/10 .

If you happen to be in town and would love to try some old school Indian Muslim noodles which is almost impossible to get anymore in Kuala Lumpur, then this place would be highly recommended. Definitely a place that would satisfy your taste buds as far as the above two dishes are concerned and the prices too are wallet friendly.
