China Town Food Court has been around for almost two years now. This food court is located in Taman Wangsa Setia, which is a relatively new housing estate that's located along the old trunk road heading towards Behrang. The exact location where this food court is is actually a light industrial area. My Dad and I visited this place in April this year and we were utterly disappointed with the food. Recently, they have done some revamping and as a result, the response had improved tremendously. Having heard some positive comments from my friends, I decided to drop by for dinner.

VIP Rooms Are Available Too |
The upkeep of this place has been immaculate and the cleanliness had been perfect since day one. They have a large dining space and also some private VIP rooms that are tucked hidden to the rear of this food court. Parking is ample as there's a huge piece of open space around the food court. This place starts for business at 4 pm and this goes on till 2 am daily. The place becomes crowded for dinner. I was early this evening, arrived here at around 6 pm and even at that hour, there were a number of tables that were occupied. Another good thing here is that the management provides free WiFi and also HBO movies that are projected on a large screen. The entire dining hall is open space concept and hence it tends to be quite cool at nights. During the day, it's quite comfortable too as adequate ceiling fans have been provided. Drinks are supplied by the landlord, just like any other Chinese food court. After having ordered and paid for my drinks, I decided to walk over to the stalls area to check out what's available.

Stalls Located On The Left Of The Dining Hall |

Chee Cheong Fun Stall |

Side's To Add |
The stalls are now located on the left side of the dining hall. Previously, they used to be inside the very same dining hall. This is a new structure that had been added recently to house these stalls. After having walked around, I decided on trying out the Chee Cheong Fun stall. Most of the stalls were the same with a handful of new ones. Of course, some have left too. In total, there were only around six or seven stalls here and quite a number of them were selling repetitive stuffs. Perhaps, the landlord should have avoided that. There's also an Indian food stall now which is new. Besides these, they have also opened a large kitchen that sells an array of dishes similar to the Chinese restaurants. Coming back to the Chee Cheong Fun stall, this has been around since day one and I have tried her Chee Cheong Fun before. This I am referring to their Sweet Sauce Chee Cheong Fun and it was quite decent. She has now added Curry Chee Cheong Fun too. Having seen that, I ordered one each with some different add on's to each plate just to give some variety to the dishes. All the add on's are priced at RM 1.00 each and so, assuming you have two slices of Chee Cheong Fun plus two add on's, then that would cost you RM 4.00 which is exactly what I paid for each of the dishes that I had ordered. The add on's are quite nice too. She has an assortment of things made from Fish and Pork, both are segregated in different trays. I asked her why she had done this and she mentioned that some people do not eat Pork and hence it would be unfair and confusing to have them all in a single tray. How thoughtful of her. Once the selection was done, I walked back to my table while she prepared them. Once she is done with the preparation, the dishes would be then sent over.

Sweet Sauce And Chili |
In less than five minutes, the dishes had been sent over to my table. This first dish, I selected two slices of Chee Cheong Fun plus one Stuffed Tofu and one slice of Fuchok and it cost me RM 4.00 as it was four pieces in total. This was served with some Sweet Sauce and Chili Paste. A very simple dish to prepare and how can anyone go wrong with just sauces. If that happens, then they should not even think of having a food business. This dish, as expected was good. The balance between the sauces were just perfect and she, the lady boss, was very generous with the sauces. Definitely one that I would recommend. I would rate this preparation at 8.5/10 .

Curry Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 4.00 |

Curry Was Good |
|
Not Too Spicy |
|
Creamy And Delicious |
|
Not Too Oily |
This was priced at RM 4.00 as I had once again taken two slices of Chee Cheong Fun, one Fish Ball and one Stuffed Okra. The curry is key to this dish and it was a good preparation. Not one that was too oily, it was balanced in taste. Creamy, non spicy or salty and blended well with the rest. Not one that was great but it was nice. Definitely recommended too. I would rate this at 7.5/10 .
Overall, I am quite happy with the food from this stall. The food wasn't fantastic and it wasn't bad either. Definitely one that was above average. Happy with today's meal and would definitely return to this stall. Now I am hoping to return soon and be able to try the other stalls too. Perhaps I should go with the very same strategy of trying two key dishes from each stall to gauge the taste. After all, life is all about choices.
