This is another famous stall in Tanjung Malim that serves Porridge and Hainanese Chicken Rice. The present location of the stall is at Jalan Loke Yew, right beside the old Rex Cinema. This stall is not visible from the main road as it is situated behind the row of stalls that is visible from the road and you would have to walk in about 30 meters to reach this stall. Previously, it was located right beside the Pork Market which was then in Jalan Douglas facing the Sin Hong Hin Restaurant. The name of the owner is Rudy and it has famously been known as Rudy's Chicken Rice Stall.

| Busy Preparing Meals |
As you can see, the layout of the stall is quite simple. Just a few tables there as most of his orders are take aways. It is managed by him and his wife. Those days he used to operate only at nights but now, he only opens during the day as he has recently set up a gymnasium and goes there to train the boys from evening to night. I used to come here from my childhood days and have been a loyal customer of his throughout the years. He also speaks very good English. Today as we came here way pass lunch hours, the stall was quite empty and we could almost get our meals immediately.

| Yellow Rice |
He serves only the Yellow Rice and this rice is boiled along with ginger and butter to give it a great taste. I would rate this rice 8/10 .

His soup is quite basic and there is nothing much to shout about. It is the simple pepper soup available in most Chicken Rice outlets. I would only rate this soup at 5/10 .

| Bean Sprouts Beneath The Meat |
His specialty is the Steamed Chicken. I would rate his Steamed Chicken at 9/10 . He also sells Char Siew and that I would only rate at 5/10 . Highly advisable to only go for the Chicken. A difference here is that he places his bean sprouts beneath the meat. Unless you are a bean sprouts fan, you should be okay with just this dish. As for the price, it is surely cheap as we got all that meat which is enough for three people at RM 7.00 .

Yes, you heard it right. The above plate of bean sprouts was only RM 3.00 . But, I find it only to be slightly above average. It would have been better if he had used the slightly bigger ones and also if they were a little fresher. I think he is just doing this business now to cater to his loyal customers and that is why he is no longer concerned for the details. Previously, everything here used to be perfect.

On the whole, though the quality has dropped over the years, it is still my favourite place to have Chicken Rice or Porridge in Tanjung Malim. The total meal cost today was RM 15.00 including the can drinks. Cheap....yes it is. I just hope that he would be able to get back to his original quality and then the food here shall be excellent.
