Char Kuey Teow & Pork Satay Tokong @ Kajang, Selangor

If you are in Kajang and would like to try a very unique Char Kuey Teow, I would recommend giving this place a try. This is just a humble stall that is located along Jalan Mendaling in Kajang Town not too far from the Chinese Temple hence the name Char Kuey Teow Tokong.

The Son Making Pork Satay

Pork Satay
Once you come towards Maybank in Kajang Town, I would suggest that you to find a parking bay as this stall is just a throw away. There's not much of a seating capacity here, at most only 10 people can be seated at any one time but this is fine as the majority of their customers do takeaways. The highlight at this stall is their Char Kuey Teow which is done very differently and the other would be their Pork Satay, which is the only Pork Satay place in Kajang town.

Herbal Tea @ RM 1.20
Besides a handful of can drinks, the staple drink here is their Herbal Tea. In fact, most people would be going for this and it's priced at RM 1.20 per glass. Very homemade taste to it and it has that undiluted flavours. We loved it and I would strongly recommend giving this a try. My rating for this would be 9/10.

Pork Satay @ RM 0.90 each

Thick, Crunchy Peanut Dip
It does take a while for the Char Kuey Teow to be served as there would at least be 30 takeaway orders ahead of you and the Aunty always fries one plate at a time for quality control. So, it's best to order some Pork Satay just to fill your hungry tummy during that wait time. Their Pork Satay is priced at RM 0.90 each. The meat was beautifully marinated, only lean meat is used and the portion was decent. It had a slightly sweet taste and that complimented the spicy and crunchy peanut dip perfectly. Unlike the Malay style of preparation, this peanut dip was thick, really thick and the peanuts were very coarsely ground and so it gives you that crunchy taste. This is definitely one good Pork Satay and I  won't be wrong to say that it qualifies to be in the Top 5 places for Pork Satay in the Klang Valley. My rating for this would be 9/10 for both their Satay and the Peanut Dip.

Char Kuey Teow @ RM 4.,50

All Mixed Up
As mentioned earlier, their Char Kuey Teow is very unique. The Aunty fries the Kuey Teow first, and then pushes it aside on the wok, breaks an egg and puts half the amount of fried Kuey Teow there and similarly she repeats it again. That means you'd get a plate of Char Kuey Teow sticking closely to two eggs and you'd be expected to stir it up. The presentation was very unique and it was very tasty as well. The heat was perfect and it had a creamy taste to it. Delicious to the last bite. She also uses a lot of Fish Cake but omits cockles. Still, it was equally good and very tasty. My rating for this shall be 9/10 as well.

This is definitely a very unique plate of Char Kuey Teow, one that comes sticking to the egg or shall I say fried on the egg instead of the conventional methods. Despite being a simple stall with limited seating capacity, you'd be surprised to see the response that they get daily. On average, one would easily need to wait 30 to 40 minutes before being served. Similarly, their Pork Satay is heavenly too. The only place that serves Pork Satay in Kajang and comes with a plate of spicy, crunchy peanut dip. Both are highly recommended and it is best to come around 7 to 8 pm as they tend to get sold out rather quickly.
