Cafe Hainan Station is another famous eatery located in Plaza Mont Kiara which predominantly serves breakfast, lunch and tea time. This restaurant specialises in Hainanese Cuisine but it also offers a number of dishes from other cuisines like Nasi Lemak, American Breakfast as well as some Nyonya dishes. They are very famous with the working population here as they offer some good sets during lunch hours which are value for money and this is also one of those places where you get the cheapest food in Mont Kiara. As such, they are always packed during lunch hours and sometimes you would need wait for a while in order to get a table.

Here, they have both indoor and outdoor seating spaces. Due to the crowd, they do not take the orders at the tables. You would have to stand in line at the cashier, place your orders, make the payments and then a number would be allocated for you which you would then place it on your table. Sometimes, the queue can extend to even outside the restaurant which can be annoying at times, especially when you are tight for time.

They definitely have a comprehensive menu with a wide array of offerings. The choices are also provided where you could go Ala Carte or choose from the sets which has been bundled with a choice of drinks.

The above Cincau drink was part of the set which I bought and it was priced at RM 10.50 together with the food. The drink was low in sugar and was just okay. I would rate this drink at 7/10 .

I found their Asam Laksa to be quite disappointing. The broth was very diluted and there weren't much fish in it. The way they placed the items before pouring the broth was also very messy. For example, the boiled egg that was sliced into two halves was placed at the bottom beneath the Laksa and when the broth is poured, the yolk tends to become soggy and that is not the way that it should be. Overall a disappointing dish. I would only rate this at 5/10 .

Their Prawn Mee however was very much better. It came with two medium sized prawns, fish paste, half of a boiled egg and some spinach. The broth was on the spicy side. I would not say that it was very great but definitely good and so much better than the previous Asam Laksa. I would rate this dish at 8.5/10 .
Well, despite their average food, I believe that the reason they have good crowd is because of their pricing strategy and it is definitely working. Would I return here, yeah I would and perhaps to try their other dishes including their Hainanese Coffee but for sure returning here would not be something that sits on the top of my list.
