Nasi Ayam Farhani @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

Nasi Ayam Farhani is located just in front of Perabut Farhani, right beside the BHP Petrol Station which is located along Jalan Slim Baru in Tanjung Malim. This is the state trunk road heading from Tanjung Malim to Slim River. This place is one of the Malay restaurants that is very famous among the locals. They have two specialty items here, their Nasi Ayam and their Satay.

TV For Customers' Dining Comfort
I was here this evening at 7.30 pm and despite it being a week day, the place had an encouraging number of customers. Parking can be a problem here so it is always best to slow down as you come close to this restaurant. Even today, I had to park the car by the side of the main road as I could not get parking in the designated parking space. The restaurant has a relatively large dining hall and the place is quite comfortable. Once I was here this evening, I was immediately attended to by the supervisor and there was no waiting for my orders to be taken. Despite the crowd, everything moved very fast and smoothly.

Teh O Ice @ RM 1.30
Their drinks were delivered in a matter of five minutes. Impressive service here. The drink was priced at RM 1.30 which is cheaper than the market price of RM 1.50 . The Teh O Ice tasted good and was neither diluted nor too sweet. A perfect drink and I would rate this at 9.3/10 .

Chicken Rice Set @ RM 4.50

Delicious Butter Rice

Very Good Roasted Chicken

Spicy Chili

Spicy Pepper Soup
I wonder how many birds are being sold per day as their business seems so good. Dine in's is just one part of their business with the majority being take away's. Their Chicken Rice was delivered in 8 minutes from the time of order. Impeccable service. The Chicken Rice set came with some Butter Rice, Salad, Roasted Chicken, Spicy Chili Paste and some spicy Pepper Soup. Everything tasted so good. The Roasted Chicken was tender and juicy, the rice was so delicious that I could eat it on it's own, their Chili Paste was again spicy and had a zingy touch of lime to it and their Clear Pepper Soup, was again heavenly. Everything that came in that set was so good! I now realise why this place is doing so well and it was priced at just RM 4.50 which is a very reasonable price. I would rate this dish at 9.7/10 . Very good Malay Style Roasted Chicken Rice and I would highly recommend this dish!

Satay Stall

Chicken & Mutton Satay with Peanut Sauce
As I was in the mood of being a glut, I also ordered some Chicken and Mutton Satay. This was served with the traditional Peanut Sauce and some cucumber and onions on the side.

Chicken Satay @ RM 0.70 each

Their Chicken Satay @ RM 0.70 each
Their Chicken Satay were good and I loved the way the chicken chunks were marinated with a slightly sweet tasting sauce. The chunks weren't too thick and were lean meat. I would rate these at 9/10 and for me, this is the second best Chicken Satay in Tanjung Malim after Abuya Satay House.

Mutton Satay @ RM 1.00 each
The Mutton Satay had a lovely marination too but I was generally disappointed with it. This is simply because they were partially meat and partially fat. Each skewer had an equal proportion of both. And the fat was not the kind of dis-solvable type of fat but the one that kind of gets you feeling pissed after chewing it for a while as it never dissolves and continues to be a pest in your mouth. As mentioned, I started getting irritated with it after some time. If only they had used 100% meat instead of the above mixture, then it would have been great. I would only rate this at 5/10 . Not recommended!

Some Cucumber & Onions

Oily Peanut Sauce
The amount of cucumber and onions provided too were a very stingy portion. They were not that fresh and I would rate these at 3/10 . The Peanut Sauce was nothing great, in fact it was not good at all. As you can see, they provided very little of it and half of what was provided was typically oil which was floating at the top. Once again, this is not recommended and I would rate this at 4/10 .

Based on what I tried tonight, their Chicken Rice was excellent. Their Chicken Satay's were good, Mutton Satay's were bad and their Peanut Sauce that comes with the Satay was horrid. And yes, the drinks were good too. Definitely a place that I would boldly recommend for their Chicken Rice.
