In the recent year, there has been a sudden growth of burger joints in the Klang Valley and one of the latest addition to this is Bert's Jr. Gourmet Burger that is located in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara. Having started their first outlet in Malacca in May 2012, they have ventured into their second outlet here in Kota Damansara sometime mid June 2013. Being a big fan of Lamb Burger and having heard that both their Beef and Lamb Burgers are awesome, I decided to try it for myself today.

If you are familiar with Dataran Sunway in Kota Damansara, this outlet is located on the same row of shops as AmBank which is parallel to the road heading to Giant Hypermarket. As it was early noon, the place was empty when I walked in. I guess I must have walked in when they had just opened the restaurant for the day. Within about thirty minutes, it was almost full house. Such a demand for good food. Well, coming back to the restaurant, I just loved the decoration and there was an artwork that caught my eye which went like this....Not So-Fast Fast Food....which literally means that all their food is made to order and do expect some waiting time.

Their Menu |
Just like any other fast food restaurant, I had to walk to the counter to place my orders. The waiter taking the orders was nice enough to ask me if this was my first time here and he explained each and every burger. Knowing that I do not take beef, he told me which are the items that I should avoid and which are the ones that he recommends and to my preference, he suggested that besides their beef burger, their lamb burger called Baa Baa Black Sheep is one of their top sellers. He then also suggested that I should just upgrade to a set for an additional RM 5.00 and receive a drink as well as fries and I agreed. I also observed that they do sell non alcoholic beer here and as it is a Halal restaurant, their burgers are kept strictly to beef, lamb, fish and chicken.

Honey Lemon Juice @ RM 3.90 |
Although the list price for this drink is RM 3.90, it got it for RM 5.00 including the fries as I upgraded to the set meal. The Honey Lemon Juice was nice although I felt that it could have been a little more concentrated. To me, this was just above average and I would rate this at 6/10 .

Seriously Chunky Lamb Patty |
After a wait of close to fifteen minutes, my meal arrives. The Baa Baa Black Sheep Burger comes in two sizes. The big one comes with a Lamb Patty of 200g and the smaller one comes with a Lamb Patty of 100g. I went for the bigger one as the smaller one would surely be insufficient for me. The bun is brown in colour and I am not sure what was the additional ingredient that contributed to that colour but it was very soft and nice. Even good to be eaten on it's own. The burger itself had a slice of Chicken Salami, Melted Mozzarella Cheese, a thick slice of Pineapple, a 200g Lamb Patty and some salad at the base. The good thing here is that you do not have to mess your fingers as cutlery is provided. Let me tell you that this burger was awesome, really fantastic. I loved the way all the ingredients were able to stand out with every bite and the Lamb was just delicious. This Lamb Burger is anytime better than what you get at Las Vacas and it was way cheaper. I would say that this is one of the best Lamb Burgers I have tried and would rate it a perfect 10/10 .

French Fries @ RM 3.00 |
Their French Fries were quite decent too. They were fresh and crisp but it was just another fries. It did not stand out on it's own. They could have done something to perhaps improvise this to have been a slightly different potato dish somewhat akin to fries, maybe fries with skin would have been good. I would rate this at 6.5/10 .

Address & Business Hours of their outlets |
It was just sad that I was alone here today and was not able to try their Chicken Burger or event their Hot Dog. Nevertheless, I was very satisfied that after a long time, I have had an excellent Lamb Burger. Truly excellent and comes highly recommended.
