This little neighbourhood restaurant is located in Damansara Damai and it is one of my favourite places to have Fish Ball Noodles. Located right at the border of Damansara Damai and Saujana Damansara, this place does have a conflicting address but should you follow the address given at the bottom of this entry, you would not miss this shop. However, to get to this place, you would need to enter via Damansara Damai.
Restaurant LK Fish Ball in Damansara Damai |
The Fish Ball Stall |
This guy starts his business daily at 7 am and his stall is open till about 3 pm. Usually, by around 1 pm, most of his other items like Tofu, Bitter Gourd etc. get sold out and so to avoid disappointment, it is best to come early. All his items are home made from Parang Fish. He has a variety of noodles to offer from the thick mee right up to mee hoon. He also has soup and soy sauce to offer. That being said, you could have the Fish Ball Noodles is either clear soup or with soy sauce noodles depending on your choice. By about 12.30, you would observe that there would be a decently long queue at his stall especially for those take aways. For those dine ins, you would just place your orders and then find a table and your meal would be sent over. At 1 pm, usually most of the tables are taken up and I have seen many customers waiting for a long time just to get a table and many do also leave to come back later.
Soy Sauce Noodles |
Every time I come here, I usually stick with the Fish Balls Noodles and this is the first time that I am trying their Soy Sauce Noodles. To me this was just above average. I think what put me off was the overdose of pepper which was not to my liking. I would rate this dish at 5/10 .
Fish Balls Soup |
The service here is pretty quick and he kind of remembers all his orders mentally. He has two helpers helping him send the orders to the tables and collect the money. Usually during peak times, it can take up to no more than 15 minutes to get your meals and so was the case today. I think the main reason people come here are for his Fish Balls. He makes them on his own and they are extremely fresh, soft and fluffy. Just a bite of it would be able to clearly tell you that it is not factory made. Such delicious Fish Balls and his soup and curry are also pretty good. I would rate this guys Fish Balls Noodles at 9.5/10 . If you love Fish Balls Noodles, it is definitely worth taking a drive here just to try this dish. Our total meal where we had two large bowls of the above mixed fish balls and the above say sauce mee cost us a mere RM 14.30 . Besides this, they also have other stalls selling Chinese Mixed Rice, Curry Mee and Chicken Rice. I am yet to try those stalls. Perhaps should try them too in my next trip here .A highly recommended place!
